For a while now I've been seeing things either out of the corner of my eye or very quickly, and then when I look back they are gone. Usually I see people - not shadows - or animals. I'm talking I will be 100% convinced I saw someone, and then they are gone.

Anyone else get these? I wonder if they're pathological or just a sign of my overactive imagination.

I've had them when I was in my last really bad mixed state. I think it was from sleep deprivation. I was awake for 5 days straight. had visual hallucination like you described and auditory hallucinations when there was white noise around me, I heard voices in it talking to me. but again I think it was more from the lack of sleep. but that was caused by the mania. so idk. but yes, I've experienced what you described before.

They're not always out of the corner of my eye for me too, sometimes just with a quick glance.

I get the out of the corner thing too. Always thought I was just imagining stuff, like being weird.

Yes!!! Months ago, probably June ish it wa really bad, was happening every day, I thought I was going crazy. I had an eye dr appt and asked him about it because I thought it was my eyes and se said my eyes looked fine. I brought it up to my psychiatrist and he didn't think much of it. Then I was reading about bipolar and hallucinations and brought it up to my family dr and I feel like this is what it is. It's exactly as you describe. I feel like I see someone walking by me or one of my cats is at my feet, or even a few times I get freaked out about something going by me fast and look and nothing is there. It freaks me out.

Yup yup. I've seen more hallucinated cats than real ones some days!

I get those types of hallucinations as well

Some of them can be really scary. Like, one time I was driving home from the pharmacy and I saw 2 little boys running into the street in front of me. I slammed the brakes and looked all around me to see if there were more of them I didn't see. Nope. Then when I looked back, there were never any boys in the street. Freaked me out.
