What are y'all going to be doing for the holidays? My husband is going to be gone from the 22nd till the 26th, so I'll be alone. I'll prob do something with my friend on the 23rd because I don't want to be alone since my dad died on the 23rd in 2007. I think i'm going to go to the movies a couple days and do a series of paintings of shirtless obama. I need to work on drawing people and man is obama hot. I got some larger canvases so I think it will be easier to paint people. I really want to paint my husband's one character from destiny, but I think I'll use a diff color scheme because he made the face/hair dark purple lol. somehow I need to figure out how to take a screenshot of the character facing forward, then get the pic on my computer so i can work off it. i don't want to burn the TV screen in.

The movies i want to see are fantastic beasts and office christmas party. I'm going to wait to see rogue one until after christmas when my husband comes back because i know he'll want to see it again.

I kinda want to cook while he's away but idk many recipes for one. Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to cook every night and not just frozen meals.
Thanks for this!

It will be a very slow holidays for me. I have no plans to see anyone except my family on Christmas Day (minus my Dad who is unfortunately working away...but that means we get to celebrate Christmas twice). All other days I will be basically pretending it is just any random time of summer and trying to enjoy myself by swimming, snorkelling, playing guitar, organising my flat and other things.

Sorry your husband won't be home for the holiday, but it sounds like you have a solid plan to keep yourself busy (BTW, my GF thinks Obama is "buff," too). On a side note, one of my favorite Christmases was one year when I was feeling too depressed to do anything. I just stayed home & peacefully chilled. It truely was a "silent night," & a day free of stress. As far as food goes, take-out pizza, Chinese & whatever else you like. Why cook for one?

I'm going down to my GF's family Christmas. It will be a full house. Her nephew has terminal cancer & has 3-6 months to live, so it will most likely be his last Christmas. His sister & her family are flying in from San Diego to spend the holiday with him & the rest of the family. Then cousins & others will also be there. Probably about 20-25 peeps in all. It will be somewhat stressful, but I'll have some klonopin in my pocket just in case.

I'm going to visit the my family that forgot about me on thanksgiving and show them the scars I have from that day, and tell them that these ones are there because none of them even thought about me enough to send me a happy thanksgiving, let alone be invited over... after that, I'll take my leave. I just want them to feel bad for not acknowledging me. that's all I want for xmas.

Obama is a cool Kat. A great subject to paint and very relevant art. My husband used to be addicted to Destiny. Now he's into Fallout 4 on the computer and doing his own mods so he is customizing his characters far beyond the built in system capabilities. My son and husband LOVE character customization. It's their favorite part of the game. They get so excited when they get the face just right.

I do a lot of crockpot recipes. Not always the healthiest but delicious. Here are some of my easy recipes I kinda made up.

Put 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (large) in a big crock pot. 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup by Campbells (you can use the light version of you prefer) 1 packet of dry Liptons onion soup mix and about a half a can of water (I sometimes add a little more water when it's cooking but rarely). Turn the crock pot on and about 5 hours later, use 2 forks to break up the chicken in the pot, boil some egg noodles or noodles of your choice and mix and serve. Very quick and delicious.

Another easy one. I usually HATE jarred alredo sauce but this makes it wonderful. I cook and drain some egg noodles....throw in a jar of alfredo sauce, a cut up cube of butter and about 3-4 oz of of Parmesan cheese....stir until heated and fully combined. So quick and tastes as good as restaurant alfredo. I use egg noodles because of the protein but any noodles will work. You can add some frozen broccoli when you are making the noodles too. And some chicken. I cube up chicken, bake it in HUGE batches, flash freeze it on a cookie sheet then put it in a freezer bag and the pieces don't stick together and are convenient to add to all kinds of foods.

Kielbasa is a quick and good meal.

Happy Holidays for everyone.

And breakfast for dinner is always good. Scrambled eggs, fried, omelette....fried potatoes with onions and bell peppers, lemon pepper and a little garlic salt....some toast, sausage or bacon. Pancakes are delicious and there are so many various ways to doctor them up.

Nothing special.

I'll be with my family, but I'll probably spend most of my day watching Netflix and catching up on TV episodes I've missed. Meanwhile, they'll be busy cooking, which I'm not too interested in. (They usually make a huge ham and other things I don't eat.) So I'll probably end up cooking something for myself when dinner comes around. Probably something like steamed green beans, mashed potatoes, and homemade pasta with alfredo sauce.

Oh, and I did ask for a few books for Christmas, so I might go ahead and read those. The rest of my family will probably be using their gifts anyway, and I bet my sister will hang out with her boyfriend later in the day, assuming she hasn't already invited him over for dinner. (Oddly enough, none of us spend much time together on Christmas Day.)

Christmas Eve candlelight service at church. Christmas Day I'll go up to my (ex)wife's house and spend the day with her and the kids. Boxing Day I'll drive them to the train station for their trip to Florida, guess who is staying home to feed the cats? Actually I hate traveling, so I don't mind and the cats like me.

New Year's Eve I hope to spend with my girlfriend, unless I have to go get the family from the train station.

This year will be a big one. It is the first year I will have my two children (29, 24) together for Christmas Dinner at the same time since about 2009. It will also be the first time my children and all their cousins will have gotten together since 2012. They all have grown - many into adulthood since that time. Thus, I am very much looing forward to it.

My brother is Mr Moneybags and is providing a smoked prime rib for me to roast. All those young people are going to prepare everything else allowing me to put my feet up for a change. In fact, my brother has also promised to bring a big Lego kit for us big people to build while they take over the kitchen.

My husband is working in Bangledesh.
I'm on my own. But I have a virtual party on general social chat here on PC.
Still working on getting my new kitten and my cat to be friends.
I cook big recipes and freeze individual dinners. That way I don't have to start from scratch every night.

I make homemade soup. All fresh and vegetables. I buy a concentrate of chicken in a glass jar.
Also a fresh vegetable Speg sauce.
Curry rice and vegetable stir fry.
I guess you figured out I'm part vegetarian. But I do eat cheese eggs and a little fish.
A good easy dish is tuna pasta salad. You tube has the old Good Eats shows. Love them.
