I sit there and then all of the sudden I feel like my body is moving in extremely slow motion but I'm moving normal, at least I think I am. I don't know what it is that I hear in my head, my own voice I suppose but it take me forever to get a though across in my own head. It's really weird. I know what I want to think but I can't seem to think it. It's like I'm stuck. Meanwhile I am totally dizzy, sometimes I feel nauseous, some times I don't. It's like if I have a simple thought "the car is blue" it take, what feels like 2 minutes to just think through the sentence and I have to keep repeating it to get through it. I know I didn't explain that right but it's the best I could do. I hope I don't sound completely crazy.... I have been trying to figure out what this is. I’ve read up and I'm thinking it maybe racing thoughts and I've also read that it is associated with Bipolar. So I wanted to ask someone.... does this sound like racing thoughts? If not can someone point me in the right direction where I may get an answer? It's the worst feeling ever and it really scares me. Happens a lot late at night when I'm either getting ready for bed or already in bed.
Thanks so much to any help that can be given!!!

Hi VioletIcicles,
I have bipolar disorder II and experience racing thoughts at times. What you described does not sound like that to me. Are you on medications? I have had that kind of an experience with various anti-seizure medications that slow my brain down. If you're not on meds, it could be a physical ailment as well. Don't let it go too long. Good luck, take good care of you. Many blessings, Etheria

No.... not on any meds. What physical ailment would or could that be? I dunno. I'm at a loss. It already has been going on for about a good two years.
Thanks for the input.

My experience with racing thoughts has not been like yours. The only phyisical symptom that accomp. racing thoughts for me is tremors and extreme anxiety.
Good luck with your quest. |

Have you had a physical lately or been evaluated by a therapist or pdoc? That might be a good place to start. It might be as simple as hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia or something like that. Don't let it go - get yourself checked out so you know what you're dealing with. Feel better. Many blessings, Etheria

Hello and welcome to Psych Central. I have Hypoglycemia and your issues seem somewhat similar but you need to go get an opinion from a DR. If the medical Dr feels there is something more going on then he can refer you to a Psych Dr or therapist for an evaluation. There are numerous reasons that you could be having these symptoms but you should have a complete physical to find out what is the culprit of the problem. Take care. Please keep Psych Central posted on your issues when you get a diagnosis from your Dr. Take Care. Soidhonia
