I am interested in what you'd say that bipolar changes most in your life. More in the sense of what is the strongest trait you have, apart from solely saying mania and depression.

I think I get so wired sometimes I make huge plans and then stress my self out until the point of no return and I try to calm myself down self-medicating. I always thought I was strange and different and still do, so I have problems opening up to people or I open up way too much.

Until recently the biggest gift from bipolar was a continuous instability.

I think BP makes me more self aware than most people. I am aware, and watch for abnormal sleep cycles, mood cycles, eating patterns, etc.

I am more sensitive- physically and emotionally. I see things a lot of people don't.

Like a few people have already mentioned, I think the depression part affects me the most because I seem to be most vulnerable at those times.

I feel the same. I'm super aware of how everything affects me. The depression is horrible too, like others have mentioned. But as crippling as it can be, I'm forced to fight for stability since I have nobody to help me if I slip up. Who else will keep a roof over my head, food in my fridge and a car in my driveway? So in the long run it has made me a stronger person.
