Question for ladies (men, you've been warned!! This is TMI for you. Now's your chance to close this out and not read!).

After starting Abilify, has your menstrual cycle been a lot heavier? I used to have really light periods with no problems. Now I'm bleeding through even super plus tampons. I had a minor accident at work today, but thankfully I was wearing black pants and I was about to leave.

It's not bad enough to stop Abilify, but I will make my pdoc aware of the side effect. The heaviness only seems to last about 2 days or so, no longer than that. I do plan to start taking an iron supplement just in case.

i did have changes after i started taking it but i have all ways had a heavy period thanks to my PCOS so i cant say for sure that the abilify did anything as far as that goes mostly it was just the timing of mine that changed.
Thanks for this!

Not that I have noticed but I'm nearing menopause so have really light (sometimes nearly nonexistent) periods. Something to mention to your pdoc though.

I didn't take abilify for long but I had heavy periods and got the mirena IUD to lighten my periods. You might think about that.
