So, my therapist says I've been rapid cycling for the last 3-4 weeks. I am starting meds at the end of this month.
I have actually felt okay for the last few days, after feeling hypo for about 2 weeks, but spending a lot of time to myself. I am a little worried about my mood, I might be heading towards a low. My dog is unusually all up in my business when I'm low, so when she gets more needy than usual, I plan on it happening. She's been following me around 24/7, sleeping at my feet (usually she sleeps on the floor), and constantly seeking my attention, being right besides me. It kinda sucks because I am starting a new job tomorrow, but am hoping that I may just be a little too observant about my moods and this will pass quickly.

If things go low, just remember that there might not be anything you can do at that very instant to fix things but that state of mind is only temporary and will subtly go away eventually.

Good luck in the new job. Hopefully you won't hit a low for now and if you do you have your faithful friend to help you through.

Good luck with your new job!
Dogs can pick up chemicals (like hormones) that we give off and it can alert them before we figure it out. Just be good to yourself and your fur kid. |

Thanks guys! First day at the new job was good, everyone was really nice. It's a big company, so a lot of new people and things to get used to.
Boogiesmash, I have a nova scotia duck tolling retriever, she was pulled from a kill shelter in Alabama and made her way to CT through a rescue. It's not a popular breed so I wonder if someone was breeding them down there and she made a bad hunting dog lol. Fharraige, thanks for that, I actually never thought that she is probably smelling the change in my moods, like how dogs can detect cancer just by smell because of the chemical change in the cells. Thanks, she's my world, no matter how depressed I get, I will always get out of bed so she can eat and go outside, and I try hard to muster the motivation to at least take her for a walk every few days or bring her to my friends for a puppy play date. She makes such a difference in my life.

I was going to an office that had an APRN to prescribe meds. I was on trileptal, buspar, and xanax prn for about 8-9 months. I needed something else for the moods, the buspar made me so dizzy I would almost pass out. APRN wouldn't listen to me and change my meds. I stopped taking the buspar but stuck with the trileptal (600 mg a day). My therapist at this place was an intern. I hated her. So I quit going to that place, they wouldn't let me continue my meds with them, that was this past October. The only reason I stayed with her was so I could keep with the meds.
I went to see my normal doctor, she felt uncomfortable prescribing me bipolar meds and recommended me to my new office. I'm on state insurance, which limits where I can go, hence why I stuck with my original office, it's difficult to find a place that will take you in CT in a reasonable amount of time. Well, I started at the new office in early January, but they couldn't schedule me to see their psychiatrist until the end of this month, which is a bummer. It was the only opening they had. I really like my new therapist and am seeing her weekly, we've been working really hard on minimizing my symptoms but they are still too much for me to deal with at times. I am rapid cycling. I'm getting insurance from my new job so maybe it'll open opportunities to find another pdoc in my area but stick with my therapist at that office.

Thanks! I've been surviving, and I do reach out when I need help, sometimes it's just hard to receive everything in a timely manner.
