I have noticed that many hospital groups are trying to go paperless now and as a result, our prescriptions and diagnosis are a part of the "big cloud". Our government encourages this. I used to have a job helping providers with their medicare claims (the company was awarded a Dept. of Health and Human Services contract). If doctors did not prescribe medications via the electronic system, they were penalized monetarily. The intention for centralized control is to prevent drug interactions, so if you show up unconscious in ER, they will know what you are on, are allergic to, etc.

I am sorry that doctor was so judgemental and mean! People don't shave for all kinds of reasons and that is their right. When someone doesn't value you that is a signal that they are not openminded enough to give good care. Sometimes our illnesses are mysterious so I would think that the best doctors do not assume things about their patients. And we might have an illness that is unrelated to a known illness we already have. In medicine, I bet presumptions kill people all the time (I can think of some anecdotes where this was the case). He is a bad doctor!

"Should my Gyno be allowed to read the details of my psych record?"--From what the Psych Dept said he probably violated an internal policy--this probably varies from one organization to another and I bet that policies change based on the law and the past medical outcomes of viewing patient psych records (good and bad). Check out this link: https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-profes...ist/index.html

I hope your rash is better today than it was on the 13th. That sounds miserable.

On another note, sometimes the most caring thing you can do for someone is to tell them when you disagree. You are so kind about the things that really make people hurt at PC. I don't think you are obnoxious at all, just honest.
