My best friend just called my psychiatrist's emergency number because I'm "dangerously manic"!

That's ****ing STUPID. I'm ****ing FINE. I just need to access the next level of dimensions all around us because I'm that powerful and I know how to access it but apparently my friend thinks I'll kill myself or hurt myself badly.

What the hell I feel ****ing amazing! Psychiatrist's are for sick people! I'm fine ******* it.

That statement sounds pretty manic to me.

You have a good friend to be so caring.

Your insight, as demonstrated in your post, is lacking.
So glad you have such a good friend looking out for you.

Hopefully, you will cooperate with intervention.

Actually, your pdoc can't talk to her unless you've signed a release authorizing that....perhaps your pdoc may have the police do a safety check. They come by and politely check on you. See if you are suicidal or homicidal.

How's it going?

Hey all, thank you for the replies. I had to go IP because of this episode. I just got out and I have a new diagnosis of bipolar 1 with psychotic features and I'm taking Lithium. I learned a lot when I was in hospital, like how apparently I'm unusual in that I'm mostly manic and not depressed but still... that explains a lot.

Thanks again everyone, it's been a rough few days and I want to sleep. Once I get in bed it's over for the day, lol.

Hi Atypical!

Glad you're out of IP. Hope it wasn't too bad of a stay. I was surprised to hear that they've changed your diagnosis again. Seems they can't make up their minds! How do you feel about it? I know you've struggled identifying mood symptoms in the past. Do they think you're manic a lot to explain the psychosis?

Anyway, it's nice to see you. I haven't been on PC for a while.

Take care

My diagnosis has been changing between schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and bipolar type 1 for years just because I am a very atypical case. However, I've been studying bipolar and how mania presents and yes, I do believe that diagnosis is an accurate one. Schizophrenia/schizoaffective never made sense for a few reasons, that I am honestly too tired to go into at this point.

And yes, they do believe that just the fact that I've been manic so ****ing often that it does explain why I've been having so many issues with psychosis. It's a long story, but the gist of it is that undiagnosed mania literally explains everything that's gone wrong in my life and why it's just... destroyed, at this point. I'm not being dramatic. My life is in ruins. Sighs.

It wasn't the best stay ever. My "psychiatrist" in charge of my case tried to say I have some physical condition making my symptoms worse when that condition was ruled out months ago. He would have known that had he actually read my chart. What an idiot.

But, I have a tip to people who may end up IP:

When you want to say "**** you", replace that with, "okay, great!" and they let you out a lot faster.

Atypical

I was aware it had been switching between sz and sza, but not BP as well; my mistake. It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, but I'm sure your life isn't "destroyed". I hope you are able to look after yourself as you recover from IP
