Anyone else feel like their bipolar has times where it goes backwards, like back to square one before given medication? One week before spring arrived my head wouldn't stop with the thoughts, some of which sound different from the others like they have a different voice, if that makes sense. I believe I will be growing wings so I could fly, and I will fly one day soon. My purple dragon friend has come back to make me smile too, and as for sleep, well forget about it cause I've had 10 hours sleep in the last two weeks. My head won't stop at all, I hear songs when there is no music, I see and hear my wonderful ex fiancé (she died 120 days ago), my cats look at me funny, my friend is struggling to deal with me (well that's what she is saying) and my mum has told me she is getting worried. Why be worried? I'm fine, I'm great, and don't need to take no medication, don't want to take it, it does nothing to me, don't know why the mental health team think I need to take Quetiapine when I'm fine, yeah okay I'm not sleeping but least I see more of life when others sleep Going backwards I'm always fine and see nothing wrong with me at allGoing backwardsGoing backwards

Hi ChibeeElf. Welcome to Psych Central. Thank you for sharing your purple dragon friend. They are quite cute.

I have a friend with Bipolar and they seem to act and talk similarly about being okay and not needing sleep when they are in mania part of the cycle. The unfortunate thing for them is they do not listen to other people and usually end up in patient in the hospital after they finally hit a wall and cannot go on anymore. It is difficult for them to see the wall but others do. I am glad they are listening to other people and taking their meds. I can talk to them now and it is good to have my friend back.

If interested these may help provide information

Hi ChibeeElf and welcome to PC!

Sounds like you are an upswing. Be careful and take care of yourself. (That means getting some sleep.)

Hi and welcome to PC.

You are describing psychosis and mania.

I am sorry for the loss of your fiancé. Must be very difficult.

I am glad your friend is trying to help you, along with the crisis team.
You are lucky to have people so interested in your welfare.

Adequate sleep will be helpful.

Why not start the med and get some sleep?

Stay safe.

I can remember thinking like this before. I thought, "This is great! I have so much more time to do things instead of sleep." But nobody can't keep that up. A few days at most, and then psychosis takes over and you hit the wall. You already are seeing and hearing things. It might not seem bad now, but it can get worse. Please consider taking the med. Purple dragons are fun, but there are UNfun hallucinations too.

Welcome!!!! I am so sorry for you loss only three months ago. That must be very difficult to say the least. It does sound like you have mania and psychosis. I have had them before and to me I was FINE, just great but it turned on me and went dark. You need sleep at least. If the Seroquel isn't helping maybe something else might. I am just worried you will put yourself at risk if the situation gets worse. Keep posting. You are welcome here.
