Well, went to my pdoc yesterday, and she's starting me on this new bipolar med called Vaylar or Vraylar? something like that.. I start it Monday. DOes anyone else have any experiences with it or heard about it? I heard it helps with energy and focus so I'm hoping that will help me. I got a terrible terrible cold and I feel like death. I've been doing very bad with my mental and physical health in the last 2 months and I found out yesterday, from labs, that I have diabetes type 2. I'm only 26! It explains the weight gain in my belly though.. and my shaking from not eating, but I'm not eating right. This is a last call I need to seriously change my diet and it's so hard and even thinking about exercising with how I feel right now gives me a headache. Things are just so difficult right now I just need some light to shine through in my life in some area.. Give me some hope that it's worth living through.

I might be starting on vraylar in June. I have might have to switch from invega due to high prolactin which caused weight gain and prediabetes. I've come here a few times looking for information on vraylar but not many people seem to have used it, so you may not get any replies about that. But I do think you still have hope. You will need to change your diet if you're diabetic, but it's doable! I changed my diet (low carb) in January. I've fallen off and eaten lots of carbs in the last ten days but I'm ready to go back to it tomorrow. Low carb is not as hard as it seems. But you don't necessarily have to go low carb, just start making healthier choices. I know it seems overwhelming but it's not that bad.

I hope the vraylar works for you and I hope it works for me too! Keep me posted about your experience!

I'm sorry you have diabetes. Exercise might help reverse it.

I hope the new med works out.

It's likely you can control your type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise.

Do you exercise at all?
Simply walking can help with both blood sugar and depression.

I'm going on Vraylar soon --when I do I'll let you know the effect it has on me.

I'm so sorry about your Diabetes diagnosis. The good news is that type II is something that can be overcome with diet and exercise (I work in healthcare and have seen it). Obviously, until then, assuming that 'then' comes about, you need to take the Diabetes meds. I don't know how much your BP meds, or a BP med, have contributed, I guess you'll have to check that out with your pdoc.

Best of luck, this sounds like a very hard time for you

It is really hard. I feel so sick. My whole body hurts. & the depression doesn't help. I almost feel like it's impossible for me to get schoolwork done and do well when I'm feeling this sick. I'm so stressed about moving as well. I'm just scared. I see her on Thursday to talk about meds for my diabetes and to start that new bipolar med as well --I'm hoping I can make it until then.

(((((( BrittanyAnn ))))))

Feeling "scared" (fear) can do a number on us. We all feel that way at one time or another (maybe more often than not). Does the fear manifest as anxiety? If so, do you have a med for anxiety?

With the body pain, depression, stress about moving and the psychic pain, your plate is overflowing.

I also hope you can make it through until your appt.
What helps, even a little bit?

Please keep reaching out and stay safe.
