I was dx BP 2 by my last pdoc.

(Disclaimer: Current pdoc insiists on MDD dx bc he hasn't yet personally witnessd me in a textbook hypomanic episode. Sometimes I wonder if my hypo mood episodes were all just caused by taking ADs, but then I don't think I was on them every time my mood cycled up? Idk.)

I don't know. No Dr has ever told me. I've just been slapped with the bipolar label. If I had to guess, it would be bipolar 2.. with some possible psychosis just because I can sleep 4-6 hours when Manic and be fine.

LOl, I used to joke that too, then come to find out, I'd been re-dx'd as BP I (by more than one person --first one didn't tell me(!)). As you can imagine, it really didn't come as much of a surprise.

I think people can vote without posting (and the reverse too(?)) That's probably why the discrepancy.

BP1, here, hands down

The jury is still out though about whether anxiety is a result of the BP or a separate disorder, secondary to BP.

Not sure which I have. Originally diagnosed as BP2. Current pdoc thinks I was misdiagnosed, thinks it's actually BP1, and is putting "Bipolar Disorder unspecified" on my paperwork for now.

I can't answer that. Never been given 1 or 2. They're only saying WHO ICD10 code F31.1.

Which is not really helpful other than saying "you are manic."
