My therapist had recommended not having coffee etc near bed but not being one to go half way I just cut it out years ago. I had a latte this morning and I'm flying. Just made me wonder if you avoid caffeine or if it impacts your mood?

I do avoid it when I notice that my anxiety is getting bad because it only exacerbates it. Otherwise I'm drinking energy drinks as needed.

I have to have my caffeine fix. It doesn't alter my moods but gives me one heck of a headache when I go without it.

Caffeine actually ups my mood, so I like drinking coffee. The problem is that it makes my anxiety soar. What I've done is drink less of it, and it's helped with anxiety. Really, if it weren't for the anxiety, I would have continued to drink more -it helps me with focus and can help with mood -until I crash from it. Of course then I would just drink more to keep up the effects.

Caffeine sends me high if I have enough of it. I remember a couple years ago I stayed up all night drinking heavily caffeinated coffee. Was properly manic by morning and was in the hospital after two weeks.
Now I do avoid caffeine but I'll have a cup of green tea every now and then. That's the limit of my caffeine intake.

I have one cup of a caff/decaff blend 50:50 in the morning.
That's it for the day. It's been this way for over 10 years.

I need it to combat my meds. I have a 1.5 cup coffee maker which I fill only half way with water and I use enough ground for 3 cups, sometimes I'll even throw in a teaspoon or two of instant to really give me jolt.

I drink more than a full pot a day when I'm working. Probably should cut back.

Around here, that high concentration coffee drink is called a "Black Eye."

I quit caffeine cold turkey 10 years ago when I realized I was using it to make myself manic. Well, I was aiming for hypo but overshooting right into mania. It's not worth the risk for me.

I stopped drinking caffeine five years ago because it amped my anxiety. I had a migraine for a couple of days, but nothing after that. I drink a lot of decaf now because I like the taste.

Don't avoid it but do limit it. I use it as a laxative when I need it, one cup of chai and I'm good. More than that it creates too much anxiety.

I used to abuse caffeine pills way back when because I loved the shaky energy I got (now recognized as mania).

Now I cannot drink caffeinated coffee because that amount of caffeine ****s up my stomach and I'm shaky and weak and feel like I'm going to vomit. Not every time but often enough that I avoid it. I drink decaf diet soda too but I can handle some caffeine in soda if I'm eating out or something.

I don't avoid it, but I try not to have it anytime after dinner. Sometimes it makes me high and euphoric, sometimes anxious, other times it seems to do absolutely nothing.

I drink one large iced before working the night shift. I tend to avoid it if possible because it skyrockets my anxiety

it does not make me hypo or manic BUT if I am in it already or heading that way I use it to fuel the fires

I used to be a coffee/soft drink fanatic. I would drink, at least, 10 cups of coffee a day, and 3 or 4 Pepsis.
I quit cold turkey for many years, and have only allowed the coffee-mistress back in my life...to a limit of two 250 ml cups a day.
Ah, for the coffee years, she was a cruel mistress, but I don't miss her.

I do sometimes drink caffeine. A soda or have a latte from Starbucks. When I go I try to stick to the teas. When I take a road trip I drink Starbucks coffees back to back and it keeps we awake. I do notice I'm pretty hyper at those times
