I went for a long walk with the wife tonight and was feeling really agitated. I don't really know why. I am prescribed xanax for panic attacks and insomnia. This is the first time I have taken one for agitation. It worked great. Do any of y'all ever take a benzo on occasion for agitation and how does it work out for you?

I take Clonazepam and Diazepam for agitation at times and it really helps. However, when the agitation is severe they don't cut it and I need an AP or two depending on how bad it is at the time.

Klonipin usually helps me unless it is really bad. But I've never taken more than 1 mg at a time so idk if upping the dose would help in the bad situations.

I take Ativan. It works okay, tones down the agitation a bit but doesn't fully get rid of it.
Thanks for this!

I have clonazepam for agitation and sleep. I used to need it all the time for agitation but with the med combo I'm on now, I rarely need it for agitation. It's really calmed me down and wiped out the mixed episodes I was having. I use it every night for sleeping, though.
