Does anyone here find that exciting things, like an upcoming trip or something else that is generally positive causes a lot of stress to the point where it leads to an episode or severe anxiety that causes you to be way off balance?

I have this to the extreme, but I'd like to know how to manage. I remember one vacation I had was planned a month in advance, and I was so worried about it getting ruined. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy...because the stress and ruminating thoughts that consumed me actually led to a mixed manic episode that completely ruined my trip. Anxiety also affects me to the extreme where I come up with worst-case-scenarios.

Over-excitement is also a big problem for me where I take an idea and run with it....which is how some of my euphoric manias start. I usually end up crashing and come "back to reality".

Do you have issues where excitement over things (or positive stressors) affect your BP symptoms or even lead to an episode?

I suffer really badly with anxiety

this in turn leads to getting stressed about something months and months before it happens

so i'll here say in january.. I don't know, in october or november of this year, you're going to get to do what you always wanted to do- fly to california!

at the moment I hear it i'll be extremely anxious and just shut down even though the actual thing's not for at least 6 months

it's horrible, and when you're asked why are you shaking, why are you crying, you can imagine the reaction of someone when you say i'm worried about something that's happening 6 months from now

I thrive on positive stress, just do not interrupt me! It keeps me out of trouble to have things to work towards and prepare for, so I try to make that happen. Because sanity. It is a delicate balance. I think otherwise I would watch porn and buy stuff on the internet all day.

I'm one of those people who has to make sure everything is in place before I go somewhere.
It drives me nuts.
