I was thinking about maybe switching out geodon for vraylar. I really don't know if I'm going to though anymore because my new dose of geodon seems to be helping. I haven't been mixed or
Manic in months and being a rapid cycler, that is rare. That and I started lamictal.

So I'm really just curious if anyone else has experience with this med??? I think it's quite new.

I don't know much about it, but 3 days ago, my pdoc and I were considering switching from Seroquel to either Vraylar or Rexulti. He said that Vraylar takes 3-4 weeks to be fully effective. I don't know how true that is or isn't, but that's a big reason I said no to it. I mean, if I miss a few doses in a row, then I'm screwed for 3-4 weeks. So I went with Rexulti

I'm on 3 mg Vraylar a day. It brought me out of a severe mixed episode, for which I am grateful. It is a small capsule, so it's easy to swallow (unlike my 200 mg Lamictal, which I gag on nearly every day...and that's after cutting it in half! ). It has a long half life, so if you miss a dose you don't immediately go into withdrawal. The bad, for me...I was on Saphris, then quit taking my meds Bad idea! I switched to Vraylar because my pdoc felt it would be better for my mixed episode. Saphris took away my anxiety, but Vraylar either doesn't, or maybe even causes it. So...now I have to take something for anxiety too. FYI, Vraylar is new, and is very expensive, so you'll need to have good insurance.
