Both my T and pdoc want me to get accommodations at work to help reduce stress at work. But I think this would just draw more attention to me than I want.
Does anyone use accommodations at work? How is it working out for you? |

I do. I have a little meeting with my lead every morning. I let him know how it's going, pretty generic. But I try to give him a sense of how well I'm coping with the workload. I have not disclosed that I'm bipolar, it just kind of organically came about. But I recommend this. There is no shame in saying, "hey I'm not 100% today." Or maybe some other way of letting your work place know you need some human factors assistance.

I use fmla. Only Human Resources is privy to the form I filled out. Supervisors can't ask me about why I'm out of work if I use it. It comes in handy.

I think employers are more open to accommodations than they were 20-30 years ago, which is good news.
Have you found enough info/experiences to further consider this option? ![]() WC |
