Today, I received four large, very heavy package boxes in the mail. I had to go down to the apt. office, which is about half a block away, and bungie them to my hand truck. The whole process took nearly an hour. When I got home, I realized they are from a non-profit I just made a donation to $10. I called them and guess what???!!!! Like just about everything else, they made me leave a message! I left them four messages demanding an immediate call back!!!!! I demanded that they take the boxes back, at their shipping expense. I checked my credit card, and they charged me A HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS!!!!! I am livid and furious. I have not broken anything. I have not screamed. This is progress. But I can't get anything accomplished -- can't get my mind clear of my fury. I have the whole day I was going to fiddle around and do nothing. My day is ruined.

This one's easy. Don't bother contacting the organization. Call your credit card company and dispute the charges. No hassle necessary, if you never authorized the charges they don't have a leg to stand on and the CC company will refund you and won't pay them. If the organization wants their boxes tell them they can come get them. Then you'll be

The path of least resistance is contacting the credit card company as bioChE stated. Save yourself the headache with about a 5-10 minute phone call.
Thanks for this!

Oh BioChe and ALL OF YOU!!!! Yay! I called the credit card number and they have blocked the charge!! You are wonderful. Actually, I don't know why I didn't think of this myself -- I've done it before. They have blocked all future or pending charges to that card, and are sending me a new card. That's the only hassle. But it's worth it. And ha ha ha -- tell the org. to come get their boxes Wow. Now I can open them and find out what's in there....

Yeah, right! But how about what I did to block the transaction -- no BAD deed goes unpunished. At least in this case....
