I realize that music touches everyone but I think some more than others. Ever hear a song that makes you feel anxious and sick to your stomach? I am listening to a song on repeat (one I would share but it is so Biblically passionate I know it will trigger many). Anyway, the last time I lived this song I was FILLED with religious delusions to the point that I would wrap myself in this song and passionately stomp my feet. It is a song that is so deeply moving that it is hard to leave it's beauty. However, I don't want or choose to leave it alone. I know this is a strange post but this just makes me feel strange and set apart. Like music on its own can make me sick. Anyone else ever have this experience?

if I understand you correctly the song is triggering you? due to you associating it with psychosis.

this happens to me. music smells tv ....if I associate it with an episode it can trigger me.

Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I didn't realize this is what I was saying but it is this exactly, ha! And, I can't turn it off even though it is making me feel overly passionate and making me feel sick to my stomach. It is definitely triggering.

Music has the power to lift me up or tear me down. People have used music to talk to me in horrible ways too. You are right that it effects some of us more. About 18 years ago I was hospitalized and I told the doctor "music has a way of making me go off the deep end" the therapist seemed to understand and I thought he never would. There are 2 Sinead O'Connor songs which really hit me in the feelz when I'm feeling persecuted. I will listen to them on repeat and sing them non stop. So I feel ya Cash. (((Hugs)))

I am very sensitive to vibrational frequencies.

If I am okay, I can listen to any music. If I am depressed, I listen to music of a high vibration only.

If I am hypomanic, I get energized from almost any kind of music.

I am a lot like wild coyote except if I'm depressed I can hardly listen to music at all. It ALL becomes triggering

happy song? yikes this is reminding me of how unhappy I am.. shut it off!

sad song? yikes this makes me want to just end it here and now. shut it off!

any general song or music? yikes i am finding a way to make this music depressing. shut it off!
