My not sleeping, mild mania has progressed to a mixed episode. I'm not feeling very good. I am so tired and so agitated. I keep crying over nothing and I can't decide what to do with myself.

I emailed my pdoc because I expect I need to increase my AP. I really don't want to but keep trying to remember it can be short-term. That's just not been my experience in the past; I just always got worse. But so far clozaril has worked well for me and so hopefully it gets me through this. This is its' first real test.

Hugs, rainbow. I hope a dose increase works and you feel better.

Did you just recently lower your dose? I thought I read somewhere that you had.

Yeah, I lowered it 2 weeks ago but increased to the old dose 8 days ago, immediately after this started. I guess it wasn't just the dose after all, or that attempt destabilized me way more than seems reasonable.
I tend to get manic and then mixed in June. This year I waited for the very end of the month but it's just what happens to me. We decided it was late enough in the month (and I'd been stable for a year plus except for small changes that were easily handled

Do you think your normal dose needs a little bit more time to kick in?

I'm still recovering from going off haldol for three days and then going back on it. Not sure how long it's been though.

Do any of your prns help?

My PRNs have gotten me some sleep when I've not been able to get there myself. That's about it, mostly because I'm saving everything for night. I asked about valium since it's no longer prescribed for me but didn't hear back. This is one of my pdoc's worst weeks of the year with the non-patient care stuff. But I clearly need more than valium anyway. The clozaril dose should have kicked in after about 4 days.

We made a mistake. I have had a tendency to get manic around June but didn't last year on clozaril and have been pretty stable since. So we waited until near the end of the month to cut it (and when it seemed pretty clear my dose was probably too high because I was over-stabilzied if anything) and my body kicked back.

I doubt we'll ever do another June/July reduction now. Bad idea. Oh well, this had to happen eventually.

That really sucks, rainbow. I really hope that you feel better soon. I hate mixed episodes. They make me feel tormented. I'd seriously rather be depressed!

I heard back from my pdoc and she is increasing my AP. I can't start it until tomorrow night because I have another commitment tomorrow and don't want to be knocked out. I am so glad I manged to reach her.

Sorry to hear about the mixed episode. I hope the increased Clozaril dose fixes the issue!

Do you think you're safe right now, depressive symptom wise?

I like benzos too when I get this way, so i hope that works for you too

I'm safe. This is uncomfortable and I feel lousy but compared to other times this is not even close to how it has been. I'll live, it just sucks.
