Seeing PDoc Tomorrow- What Should I Say to Her?

I feel like I just saw Pdoc recently- not even a month ago. She had that man who works in the Psych hospital at U of M in my appointment with her. He was pretty cool. She described me to him- all nice things. But what do I say to her tomorrow morning? My biggest complaint right now is that I feel fat. I hate my reflection. My weight loss has reversed itself. I never look at myself in the mirror. EVER. So I'm looking forward to seeing my friend Scott one of these days. He's a great friend since 2004. But we have to plan a date and so far that hasn't happened. Without a date and time intersecting, there is no date. My meds seem to be working. I hate zyprexa, though. I want off of it. But every time I try to taper down from 7.5, I get withdrawal symptoms. So I'm stuck.

That's something I do want to talk with her about. She thinks I'm happy about 7.5 but Its killing my metabolism and its bad for your liver. Ok so maybe THAT'S my biggest complaint.

Tell her everything, sounds like you have a good relationship with her. Surely she has suggestions on the taper. Could you do 7.5 every other day for a week then every couple days for a week and so on....just a thought

Tell her that you're concerned about your liver and metabolism. Does she know about that concern? If not, I really think she should know.

Has she made any suggestions about how to help you wean off the med? When I was on seroqel, I tapered down to 25mg (the smallest dose). Then I cut it in half for 1 week. Then I cut those halves in half for 1 more week. So... 6.25mg was my final dose?

Ask if your pdoc thinks it's ok to cut the tablet in half. The table says in theory that it's okay, but obviously only a pdoc will know the answer to that question.

Last time, we tried 5's every day. (Never did get lower than that.) But, I'll bring it up again and see what she says.

She thinks my liver is okay because my enzymes have come HUGELY down recently from what they used to be. I'm glad about that, but zyprexa isn't helping even so. She had been writing me smaller scripts but they only go down to 2 1/2 mg. I know you could cut those in half, as they are oval shaped and not too small.

Is the zypexa helping you? I know the side effects suck but if it's working Id stick with it unless you are having serious health issues. I am already diabetic so that isn't a fear for me I just had to change how I eat and exercise regularly. I have but one 5 lbs in four months of zyprexa but I have worked hard to keep the weight off.
