I need to go to the ER. My brother just recently went to the ER and it obviously costs money.

We don't really have the money but I really need to go.

Any tips on how to phrase/ask my mom to take me?

Tell your mom you really need to go and why. When she brings up the money tell her they could probably make payment arrangements. Good luck.

"Mom, I can't wait until mid/end of July. I need to see one today."

The other option is to go to urgent care and ask for meds to hold you over until you see your pdoc. You can also call pdoc tomorrow and see if s/he'll can order for you. I would call your T tomorrow.

Does she know the details of what you're suffering right now? Maybe if you told her frankly what's going on she'd understand. It's a health emergency.

I know you keep some of the details of what you go through from your mom and I understand this, I do the same.

Your pdoc doesn't take phone calls in between appointments.

I'm wondering if you can let her know it's urgent?

Are you feeling suicidal or as though you may self-harm?
If so, is this something you can tell her.

Do you feel you could tell her more if it means you can get help sooner?

Keep posting! Your threads are fine.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah I keep the more 'scary' things to myself.
My pdoc doesn't return calls yes.

I feel a little suicidal. Not full blown yet.
Mom doesn't know that. Or even about the hallucinations yet. I fear she'll look at me differently.

I am going to tell her through text while she's at work.
I just think she won't take me because we were just there.

If she understands it's urgent/serious, she'll likely take you anyway.

Yet, how to tell her it's urgent while keeping your privacy is the question I think?

You could try just simply telling her it's urgent and see how she responds.

You need support for your needs. Although we don't want some people to know what we go through, maybe selectively sharing the truth is the only way to get support?

What do you think you could share with her?

I could probably share that I'm hallucinating. I can't tell her I feel suicidal, it would break her heart. I'll text her today from another room.

You need to go. You know that. If your mom won't take you, call 911. They'll get you there. That's what they're for. Tell your mom you're having persistent hallucinations. Tell her it's urgent. Again, if she won't take you there is help available.

Text 741-741. It's a crisis hotline. Ask them what to do.

Just go!

Thanks bio. I told my mom. She's calling my pdoc from work tomorrow and asking what to do. What do you think they'll say if it's hallucinations and a little suicidal?

I think it's possible your pdoc will prescribe and have you stay at home....OR... will ask your mom to bring you to the hospital.

Hopefully, you get the help you need.
Remember the Seroquel XR med offer online. (Incase you need it.) Med info was given to you by our friends in another thread.

Do you have a preference as to how this is handled?
Do you prefer going to the hospital?

I am so happy for you! You were able to get the ball rolling! Nice job!

I'm happy too! I was surprised.
And yes I remember from the other threads thanks.

Honestly I'd prefer to just get a med and not have to leave the house. But I do think the hospital might be better. I'm torn.

Maybe you can state a preference in this, with your mom and pdoc?

I hope things come together for you!

Bring a bag with some clothes and modes of entertainment (books, coloring books). That way if you go IP you won't need anyone to come bring you provisions immediately.

Some hospitals hold "sharps," like fingernail files, fingernail clippers, razors, etc. They keep them for you and you can usually ask for them in order to use them. No glass bottles for shampoo or make-up, etc.

Some places allow phones and internet access; some do not.

I think those are the most important rules some places employ.

Others may come along and comment. Many have much more experience with hospitalization.

Thanks both of you. If I do go I'll have to have my mom buy me a coloring book.

What about ipods?

I think some places allow ipods. Bring it with you and send it home if you cannot have it with you there.

No electronics at the hospitals I've been too. Can't have cords, for example. Nothing string-like.

Hospital is super boring, there's no getting around that.

Yup, you should be able to have those. They likely have some in stock too, but of dubious quality.
