Stopped Trileptal a few days ago

Started splitting Lamictal dose into AM/PM yesterday

Stopped Zyprexa starting tonight

Just took first dose of 100mg Seroquel XR, for 2 days then 200mg, 2-3 days then 300 and that becomes the daily dose.

Also have 25mg PRN 1-2 BID, pdoc said I probably should do this nightly and not prn, but to see what happens and how I do.

I've not been doing well, I think the brief trileptal taper has made cycling worse the last few days. But before that was having more serious problems for about a month which is why we are doing this. I saw the MD end of last week.

I'm hopeful, and I'm scared at same time. I have had zyprexa in me for a year. I did try to go off it once and it was HELL after a few days. So I'm scared that might happen. I guess I just wait and see.

Thanks.

Like I said, I'm scared and hopeful both.

Cycling has been bad, a lot of mixed stuff. Can't slow my thoughts down but can't stay awake, but can't fall asleep...

MD said give it three hours to kick in. I have the PRN but I want to see how this goes at least a few nights. Less is more if done right.

My experience with Siroquil was 20 minutes after taking only 150mg at hs, I was out like a light. I didn't find it really helped with the mind chatter, but I have since been taken off it, as my PDoc switched out the epival, siroquil, and celexa for Saphris and Lamotrigine. I have noticed that since going off the siroquil I have been cycling like crazy and a wave of emotions I don't know what to do with.

Best of luck with the med change

Hope your changes work.

The cat in your profile pic is adorable.

I'm taking XR so he said it will take a few hours to kick in. And I could take 50 of IR at bedtime, I wanna see how I do on the 100 XR for 2 nights, then 200 for 2 nights, then up to 300XR for the on-going dose.

Hope it goes OK I'll update

It's natural to feel hopeful, yet scared of med changes. I can totally relate. (((hugs)))

Thanks to all.

I ended up taking 75mg of the IR because I still wasn't falling asleep after several hours and my body was fighting it. I was more manicky than I realized yesterday. I am NOT today haha. Wow. Super vidid dreams, grinding my teeth, dry mouth. About 11 hours of sleep total. Tonight I want to only do the XR and see how that goes again at 100mg. Then bumps up to 200, then 300.

I think this might work out. I hope!!!

Thanks to all! hugs

Hey, it's been a few days now and thought I'd update. I'm cycling and not staying very consistent. I learned today that PRN seroquel in afternoon is needed at least for now. I've been having manic stuff in the afternoon. And mixed in the evening. Fighting going to sleep while exhausted at same time. XR dose goes up again tomorrow. In the mornings I feel sedated but less daily, then kinda normal, then the cycling stuff I mentioned. No depression stuff outside of the mixed stuff in evening I mentioned.

This is going to take a few weeks probably to figure out daytime doses, night dose, and the XR dose.

Taking PRN a few hours ago really helped slow me down, I can already feel the nightime mixed stuff coming on though.

So for now, one more dose bump on the seroquel XR, then I can continue figuring out the daytime and HS doses. I don't want to have to HAVE to take a 2 hour nap a day, after knocking myself out though. This is just going to take some time. The other changes are already settled in. No trileptal, no zyprexa, and lamictal BID now.

I welcome any advice etc or experience when changing meds so much. Literally everything is now different than one week ago.
