Hi Guys. Here I go with my rant.Pain for 40yrs due to work related injury & BP for along time.My moods shift like crazy & I'm sure its not the BP-well not that often.Narcotics stopped working so no OTC is gonna help.Pain rubs-a lost cause.I have no one to talk to but my wife & I try not to upset her but she can tell by my moods, the way I walk,& going to bed very early to ease the pain & also to forget that I'm alive.Pretty much my only friend & neighbor doesn't want to hear it as she has pain herself. So,when I'm asked how are you?A fake smile with an OK.Really-that's just a greeting. She's a little mad that I don't see her mans band play.I developed a hear issue from my 14 yrs as a musician called hyperacusis which makes even the slightest noise too loud to handle such as music, cars, airplanes, etc.
We can't afford to pay for surgery as my wife has a lot of medical bills racked up for herself.Refused my Drs offer to go back on narcotic meds.I love being able to think clear again. This depression started in March & isn't lifting good enough for me.I'm at my witts end.Thank's for reading & putting up with my rant.I know getting this out will make me feel somewhat better.Hope everyone is OK

I'm glad you feel like you can share your truth here.

Many participants deal with both BP and chronic pain.
I am sorry you also must deal with these challenges.

I've noticed a few members have also recently mentioned living with hyperacusis, as well.

I wish there were helpful solutions for you and your challenges.

Please feel free to vent as much as you find helpful!

Thanks for sharing. I am sorry you have to live with BP and chronic pain. I have Fibromyalgia and that involves chronic pain plus exhaustion, among other things. It is a tough gig and they do feed off each other. I have no suggestions just my sympathies. Keep posting if it helps.

Have you ever tried prescription lidocaine patches? I can't remember the name of them but I've seen them help some people quite a bit with substantial pain who couldn't take narcotics.

I use Neurontin (gabapentin) for pain, and I found it helps. I also use Voltaren cream for my joints and back and while it's not perfect, between that and ice and heat, it makes things bearable. I also get massages just to treat myself for a day and I'm looking into doing hydrotherapy. I have to do a lot to deal with pain, too.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Pain just wears a person down. Having to accept it is a challenge on most days, and I know this is so frustrating. Sending you good thoughts. I know it won't help but I understand.
