what tasks do you find it difficult to accomplish, and why?
for me, I think the answer has to be self care. their are so many days where I just think well is it worth it, i'm here aren't I- i'm alive, why don't I just get on with other stuff?. I also hate vacuuming. it is such a task, and when you live alone, you feel like well, does it honestly matter if I do it or not? (I usually do anyway, but don't see the point) and walking about, obviously because of my pain. when I can, I try to avoid it what tasks do you find hard because of your illnesses/ other circumstances |

I find self care and chores nearly impossible sometimes due to lack of motivation and depression. I do generally force myself to take care of my pets but some days that's it.
Sometimes my inability to do things makes me feel further depressed and defeated. ![]() |

I find many tasks, most tasks, difficult.
Depression coupled with severe chronic pain, as you know, makes it difficult to dig in and to get things done. I am glad you are over that stomach bug and are back around PC. ![]() WC

I hate cleaning and showering. I have two little kids and one teenager so cleaning up after them every day is tiresome.

House work and motivating myself to do pretty much anything be it personal care to socialising. I just don't give a bleep!! Especially at the moment. I'm ironically not depressed I've came out of a depression. Everything is an effort. I wish it wasn't but it is

I hate showering too I mean I do it obviously (I aim for at least once a week), but I don't go anywhere, I don't see anyone, why is it so essential to shower if you live alone? I don't get it |

Cleaning. Hate it. And sometimes grocery shopping/ menu planning /making supper.
(I could happily stand under a hot shower for ages) |

Everything is hard and I'm being buried alive with unfinished tasks and responsibilities. All I can see is EVERYTHING that needs doing.....I'm overwhelmed and cannot prioritize or make decisions on what to tackle first. No matter what I do, I feel I should be doing something else. It's eating me alive.

Cutting the lawn and doing the dishes. If I never had to do either one again, I would die happy.

![]() I experience this often. It's gotten to be a feeling I have more often since my mother has moved in with us. I just have severe difficulty relaxing and "letting things go" with her around. I still have to "let stuff go," as in try to ignore tasks, often. Yet, then I also find myself overwhelmed like you've described so well. It's Peace we need. We must trust we are doing our best. I also have to forgive myself when I just cannot do certain tasks. ![]() WC

For some reason I find showering to be a chore. I dread it but still do it every day because I can't stand feeling unclean.

Keeping up with vacuuming, basically any kind of cleaning beyond some of the basics. I am bad at house projects and don't take them on. I don't like to cook, although I come from a family of good cooks. My grandmother had OCD related cleaning late at night, and my mother grew up raised by her, so it was drummed into my head that everything must be clean. I never felt I could meet their standards. My attention span makes me pretty bad, so I pretty much gave up on cooking much. I envy people who find these things easy. I'm left feeling inadequate a lot and not as prepared for "the world of responsibilities". Household stuff makes me really anxious. Cleaning my closet and drawers is absolutely horrendous too. I no longer have a partner, and some of this stuff hindered me, and I'm hoping this doesn't follow me in the next relationship.

I do all my shopping online, so it's just a case of finding what I need, and putting it in the basket I like to imagine though i'm throwing the items in the basket, because it can be annoying sometimes so many brands to choose from, so expensive, so many offer on at 1 time (and you want them all at once), items out of stock, etc. |

So many of us hate showering! I am in this group. Part of it is my long hair. I hate washing it.

I hate most household chores. Motivation is a big problem for me. Forget cooking. I absolutely hate it. I warm up frozen dinners in the microwave and do a lot of take out. Hopefully some day my motivation will improve.

I find food shopping and cooking the most difficult to do. When I can I cook a big meal and freeze the left overs for the many days i just cannot cook. My Mum also freezes her left overs and gives a few to me each week, which is a godsend. Basically, I cook about once a week. For breakfast I have oats, berries, chia, other nuts and yogurt then am full enough to have a banana or protein drink for lunch. It is dinner I can't handle.
