For some reason I'm REALLY angry. I feel like I need to cut something or stab something. Or maybe punch something until I bleed. Yelling isn't helping.

I have no idea what is wrong. This is new for me.

You mentioned you're switching meds? Have you done that yet? Maybe a new med is causing this reaction?

Whenever I feel that way I take a prn and it usually calms me down.

Bless your heart, you have to be miserable. Would a Valium help?

I don't mean to sound flippant, but sometime it helps actually act out those feelings in a safe way. Scream obscenities into a pillow. Beat the crap out of your sofa. My T kept a nerf bat (sort if a foam rubber bat). Her clients would beat in her sofa when while yelling what they were mad (if they knew) about until they felt better. I tried and found it deeply satisfying.

It's ok to be angry it's just an emotion. Sometimes we don't even know why we're angry but that ok too. Sometimes it's just an accumulation of life in general especially when we're suffering from the chronic illness of MI.

Also there is a cuss thread in the forum, you can there and cuss your head off. you don't need a reason

I can sympathize with this. I hope it is new and ephemeral symptom for you. I go through it often. Our experiences seem to be different but I am on gabapentin to address this. Another doc prescribed prn ativan too, but I saw that you took a valium..... Sometimes we all just need a time out, I get my nails done or hair trimmed sometimes.

I'm so sorry you're feeling like this. But Shaz has great insight. Anger sucks but it IS just one of the many emotions we experience. Hope it passes soon.

Thanks all. After a very brief sleep I'm feeling better. I hope it lasts.
