1 of those voting threads...

do you nap during the day?
why or why not

I tend not too- A, I never believed in it because then you won't get a proper sleep later, and B, I struggle sleeping at night anyway.

why would I want the extra hassle?

so?

do you nap during the day time?

The gabapentin has been making me sleepy. My anxiety is so bad right now a nap is a nice escape. I like to listen to a talk and fall asleep with it.

None of the above...I don't nap because I wake up with a splitting headache...and completely disoriented. Like I need either....

I really hate napping. Makes it hard to sleep at night and messes up my body clock. Not something I do unless I'm sick or a med change has me all messed up.

I used to before I switched meds in June. Since June I have not been able to nap. I wonder now if it was the invega making me sleepy enough to nap.

I probably nap twice a week, maybe thrice, but I still sleep heavily that night. Of course, if hypomanic my sleep patterns change.

I try to at least lie down for a little while each afternoon. I usually don't fall asleep, but if I do it's okay...doesn't disturb my sleep at night. I am so tired all the time (probably from meds) that I feel like I absolutely have to at least lie down and rest each day.

I used to nap almost every day, but now I don't seem to feel the need. I've been on a minor upswing through most of the summer and have had adequate energy to meet my needs. Now that fall's here and the weather will go back to being rainy and chilly, I'll probably go back to napping too.

I can't answer the poll because all the answers relate to me. I try not to nap but can't always pull it off because of how sick I am. I lay down at least once a day for 30 minutes to a few hours.....sometimes up to 5 or 6 times. Usually I don't sleep but I have to take the pressure off my body and close my eyes because they hurt and so does my head and stomach. When I'm depressed or sick I sleep a lot and have no choice in the matter. When I'm well, I keep to a schedule.

I usually get sleepy during the weekday and take a long nap after breakfast. I'm able to sleep at night

If it weren't for the sedating properties of clozapine I wouldn't sleep at all due to insomnia. Napping is impossible for me.

When I feel sad, I usually take a nap. This morning I woke up and I felt so tired and I felt groggy all day long so I ended up taking a nap in the middle of the day. Glad I did because I honestly think I needed it from my mind racing so much.

I love a good nap and will sometimes take one on my days off. I do have to watch myself though, because I have two different nap scenarios:

Healthy scenario: I'm actually feeling tired and would benefit from a nap.

Unhealthy scenario: I'm feeling sad and want to take a nap so that time passes.

I have to watch myself and look at what is the reason behind the nap.

I take 300-600mg of seroquel at night. Anything over 400 then I’ll nap the next day. Such a crappy feeling.

I need to or I feel horrendous. I try and not nap unless its a Sunday and a Tuesday and a Thursday. I am told cause I am inactive I feel shattered when in fact I am just probably bored. I don't believe it though. I am exhausted at bedtime too but I just can't sleep
