I'm f_cking pissed. I missed my pdoc appointment yesterday because I got NO notification in advance. (Yes, I should write these dates down, but I forgot to do so this time.)

I called up the front desk to see what we could do, but my pdoc is out of the office for the next 2 weeks and I'm running out of meds.

He also didn't have the courtesy to call me to let me know I missed his appointment. What the f_ck. You know, a "hey, I noticed you missed the appointment. Is everything okay?" Nada. Obviously he doesn't care about anything but money.

I'm already feeling like sh_t. This makes me feel even worse

Or how about calling for a phone appointment? You know-how an actual appointment over the phone? Can his boss write you scripts?

Thanks, Moose

I called to the front desk to see if there was a cancellation this week. There is an opening today at 10:40am if I really want it, but I have a therapist appointment at 10:45am in a different location. So I can't do the pdoc appointment. (I haven't seen my therapist in 3 weeks at this point anyway, so I'm not about to cancel it and pay the $250 fee for short notice cancellation.)

My pdoc doesn't do phone appointments. I have no idea why. I've tried it before, but he won't do it. The problem is that I get med samples, not actual scripts... so I don't know how to get those...

I feel like giving up on this pdoc. Always takes vacations and doesn't seem to give a sh_t about his patients. And some of the stuff he suggests/says is just plain weird.

Dunno. I'll have to call around and find someone else who isn't like this. *sigh*

I need someone more reachable.

I'm sorry you're having a difficult time. I agree you need a new pdoc. It just seems bizarre to me that a pdoc would go on vacation without somebody on call for emergencies or even a voicemail where he can retrieve messages etc. I hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction.

Never had this kind of problem back where I used to live. A "one stop" clinic with everyone in the same building and always someone on call, reminder calls, etc....Matthew was almost always available even after hours.
Not so here in New York!
Sorry you're going through this and hope it all works out for you.

Your pdoc won't call in your meds to a pharmacy without an appointment?

A $250.00 cancellation fee for your therapist? Wow.

my pharmacist will contact any of my docs if I am having troubles getting meds prescribed. They answer to her every time.

I hope this gets resolved quickly.

Thanks guys.

And yeah, it's a $250 cancellation fee. I think it's pretty fair though. I mean, it's gotta suck when you have 1 client who makes lots of appointments, then ALWAYS cancels at the last minute when someone who REALLY needed an appointment could have had that one. It hurts other clients more than the therapist, I presume.

My pdoc's office doesn't allow pharmacists to contact them for refills. I don't know why. I've asked the office and they said it's their policy...? I have to pay $30 for a random nurse/doctor in the office to write a script... So maybe that's why. Maybe it's about them wanting to make money.

Pretty sh_tty, I know. This is another reason I need a new pdoc, specifically one outside this office. I didn't know I'd have medication troubles.

Suckage!!!! at your having to deal with the possibility of running out of meds.

Maybe a new Pdoc will be a huge benefit to you.

Your pdoc doesn't sound very reliable. Maybe it's time to find a new one. I hope you can get your meds soon.
