Hope.. I can comment and is ok... I am not bipolar,,, but DID... and well.. thru the years my hairstyle changed dramatically... at times as different alters had stronger control... one time.. I had waist length hair.. and well out of the blue my mood changed.. next day it was about an inch long...

grew it back out waist lenght again.. but.. yes.. as my "moods" change so does my hair.

Haha YES!

When I didn't have the diagnosis for bipolar, but had suspicions, I dyed the left side blonde and right side black, to kind of represent the manic and depressed sides. Heh. That was a fun hair colour. :-)

Mine wasn't quite waist long, but it wasn't far from it. I went from that to completely shaved. It was quite a shock to the people around me, and to me as well, once I took the time to consider it.

From 4th grade through 11th I didn't cut my hair at all. It was down past my butt. I also wore all black - I wasn't a goth, it was the depressed side. Then winter recess of my 11th grade year I cut it shoulder length and started dressing more fashionably. That was my first up-swing. During that time though, I'd change my nail color/pattern (not professionally - I've never paid to have my nails done, I'm pretty good at it myself) along with all my moods. People say you can't judge a book by its cover, but I think we often make our outward appearances reflect what is going on inside.
