I got a letter today saying my Medicare drug plan won't be covering one of my meds in 2018. Great. The one that works.
I see pdoc Wednesday so I guess we should go off it now.

Can you petition to have Medicare cover that med?
I'm not on Medicare, but my current insurance company won't cover my Rexulti. My pdoc said that the way he will handle it is through telling the insurance company that I've been on the drug for a while and that taking me off it will destabilize me. That's his argument |

Can you change part D plans? Diifferent plans cover different meds easily I had to last year to get clozapine covered but a different provider covered it without problems. You have from now until I think 12/1 to change Part D plans at medicare.gov It's actually good to check every year because sometimes a cheaper but better plan comes along. I had that happen a few years ago and maybe again this year.
And if none will cover it and it's name brand then you can apply for patient assistance, request an exemption and they'll give it to you for free. I get several meds through assistance and all of them are with exemptions for something, usually for having Med D but I can't afford the Med D co-pay. I've never been denied the exemption.

it has a generic which I take.
Also-my part d plan is free so I'm Not sure I should mess with it. I'll talk it over with pdoc and see what happens
