I’ve been spinning, spiralling, almost too far down to “recover”

It’s kind of amazing how “resilient” I can be despite how loud the abusers in my head shout “you must die” .. “you’re weak, disgusting and worthless” and so much more..

But I now have a refill of benzos. (And other meds ) What to do with them is the question

I’ll be a “good bear” and try to take them “as prescribed”..

Why am I on this planet? I don’t know

I know this road well.

I'm sorry.

I've worked hard to get off benzos over the years; I found myself with a new script recently, as well. Circumstances, however, steered me to take it. Trying to keep myself out of the benzo head space that takes over. You know the one where we are convinced that all of our problems are solved with the benzo. It's a nice place to be, that's for sure. Benzos were made for people like us, and also noting that because nothing goes right, ever, benzos go sour for us real quick as well.

I hope you feel better.

Taking a benzo reminds me of having a drink but gentler. I notice a little sometimes helps but to much of it (benzos) to often pushes me into depression.

IMO they are best taken as needed and short term. When you take everyday, you build up tolerance, needing more and more to get the same effect (my experience). This is why I try not to use daily (I am sensitive to their effect).

Be careful not to overuse Fuzzy (I know it's not easy), to much could make your depression worse.

yeah, now when i'm depressed i can't even take .25mg or i feel just miserable. i have a pill cutter to cut .5mg into 4 pieces, and i only let myself take them at night before bed so i don't obsess and lose sleep. if i lose sleep, i get manic.

during a period of very intense anxiety, i was taking .5mg three times per day. i didn't notice because the anxiety was so bad that they were actually doing what they needed to do. but as soon as i started to feel better, i tapered off. you don't want to be on these at higher doses for too long as they have an effect on memory and may contribute to Alzheimers.

I hope you feel better soon, Fuzzy. I have to be careful too, because before I got locked up I had a prescription at home that I had actually started using. And here in the nursing home I am asking for prn's a little too often. I nearly died so many times when I was addicted to Klonopin. I never thought I'd use a benzo again. and I agree with the others, try not to use them daily. The dependence happens so quickly for me that it's scary. Benzo refill

I ended up having my spouse keep benzos locked up for my, otherwise I'd run out before my next refill.

But also don't be afraid to use them at all. They can give you the mental break from anxiety that we all can use sometimes.

I hope you’ll be OK—you’re sensitive to meds, if I remember correctly

I actually ended up doing this at one point . I was taking way more than prescribed and running out early. Withdraw from benzo's sucks. They are great med's when taken as intended. Good luck.
