So definitely my fault for taking a pre workout late. Now I can’t sleep. Guess too much caffeine. Anyone up for a chat.

I need to start adopting a morning habit kinda like sleep hygiene. Wake up do some yoga, do a meditation, eat breakfast brush my teeth, write down to do list and review what I have learned.

How's it going, boogie?

I really need to quit waking up early. Not sure what gives. My body needs to get with the program.

Doing fairly well. Been in an iop since August. Have turned it around considerably. Actually prior would be doing the opposite and sleeping away weekends even weeks.

Waking up early, can get stuff done lol

How are you doing?

Glad to hear IOP has been good for you.

I'm doing ok, though my mood is bouncing around like crazy. Not generally typical for me but has happened before. Some kind of ultradian cycling maybe?

Your right about getting stuff done. Though, I must admit I love the peace and quiet before my son wakes up.

Trying to plan my day. Need to keep busy. Quit smoking 5 days ago.

What do you do to keep busy on the weekends?

Depends. Usually I’m working but I’m off this weekend. Going to a haunted house attraction later tonight. Depending when I wake up try to go to my martial arts class but if I wake up later just the gym. Some cleaning and cooking. That’s the plan for today.

Good start for quitting smoking. Their are times I miss it. I have quit for six years. It was Wellbutrin, nicitrol and big red that helped me quit. I did develop a big red addiction that I had to kick too lol.

What are you doing?

That sounds like a good plan for the day! Enjoy the haunted house.

I've been babying a few pieces of nicotine gum during the times that the urges to smoke hit. Working on changing habits. I'm still walking outside with my coffee like I would if I were smoking. I think I may switch from the 4mg gum to the 2mg gum for next week. Or maybe it's too soon?

Did you have to change habits to fill in the time you smoked? If yes, what did you do?

I would go outside with nicitrol in the first few weeks. It’s a little plastic tube (kinda looks like a tampoon) were you would insert nicotine cartridges. I would go outside at first then just started using it inside.

Then I switched to big red gum. I would chew it every time I had an urge. After a while my body associated nictotine urges being relieved by it. Them that’s when I started getting addicted. I’d go through two three packs a day lol. I was buying them in bulk at bjs. but it was better than the alternative. Yea that’s what was key. Associating urges with gum.

I’m not gonna lie I still get urges to this day and may of had the occasional smoke every now and then past six years. Mostly few puffs than I said damm this is nasty.

Most important mindful of your urges and needs. Don’t mindlessly eat. I was very careful and actually ate less when I quit but also worked out a lot. Ahhh I miss those days.

I'm already anticipating triggers and urges. I've quit 2 or 3 times before but only made it about a year or so each time. I think I'll be ok with not eating more. Actually lost weight this week. I'm very concerned about turning to other unhealthy coping mechanisms when there are emotional triggers though. It sucks having BP and even having to think that way.

This time around, I'm also avoiding telling myself I can never smoke another cigarette too. That seems to freak me out and makes me want to smoke.

The hardest thing about habit change and BP is that you bust your *** to change your habits...then a big dumb episode comes along and messes it all up.

I quit for a month, but started smoking again. Sigh.
