for me it's

A- not caring about myself, and feeling I don't deserve self care

and B- because I live alone, so who really cares?

it's not like anyone is going to show up and see me, so..

I shower once a week (or try to). even on days when my mental health worker (or someone else shows up), I don't shower- I usually just wait for the day, usually a friday.

I feel gross for taking one too, grosser than I did before I took one (and I never figured out why that is, it just is)

Do you also feel gross if you shower without soap? I hate soap. I use shampoo, but my body I don't usually use soap on. Soap gives me a slimy feeling.

I refuse to take showers...something about the water running over my head...so I take baths and wash my hair in the sink. Just not very often...sometimes I go for weeks
Glad to see I'm not the only one...

I am the same. I don't know why. I occasionally take baths and wash my hair daily in the sink to fix it for work. I probably shower twice a year. I also struggle with brushing my teeth. My doctor and I talked about it and she gave me a toothbrush/toothpaste. I've been brushing every day now with her support. It's been 2 weeks and I've only missed one day. It's embarrassing to have these issues. I'm a working professional who privately can't take care of herself.

i've never showered without soap.

again, another weird thing of mine

I hate soap, it's so slippery, and gross, and weird feeling, but I still use it.

I think the main reason for me feeling gross after a shower is because of the whole body image thing.

exposing my naked body is just.... it makes me sick.

I have trouble showering when depressed. To add insult to injury, my shower is on the fritz. The temperature fluctuates, the spray is weak and the drain is slow so water collects in the tub. I sobbed when i showered today it was so unpleasant. I'm going to use the shower stall in the building sauna until i get it fixed. Glad i live in a building and have options.

Daily , Its a law I made for myself. From undress to wash body and put clean clothes on takes 10 mins of less..

I only wash my hair twice a week as more than that is unhealthy unless a person has oily hair.

^ Well then you are the shower queen, Christina!

I am on day 3. Went to the bakery, the store, and walked around.

This is a much more common problem than I realized. Most days I make myself shower to go to work but if I’m particularly low I will skip showering because it just seems so daunting.
