Yes! I cut my nails as short as I can and then when they're too long to type on my phone I still put off cutting them as long as I can.
As for the shower. It doesn't actually hurt you to be dirty (unlike neglecting to brush your teeth). I don't mind doing it if I'm going somewhere (besides Walgreens) but otherwise it's even painful to contemplate.
Someone gave us a bath sponge. I never saw the point of those or washcloths, so I looked up how to take a shower. It turns out they can harbor germs or be rough on your skin, so it's recommended you just use your hands (like doctors do) Then it gave instructions for a quick shower, which is your hair, your nether region, arm pits, under breast, rinse off conditioner from hair (if any), wash your face, and then you're done. That's actually all I do anyway--when I do take a shower--so it was cheering to know I do it right. At best then you slather yourself with skin lotion while you're still wet. But that seems like a huge chore.
