I understand that pdocs and therapists can have you sent to the hospital if they believe you are a danger to yourself. That's happened to me once. But why is it that they can call my husband if they feel that he should try to get me to go to the hospital? I have had one time where my pdoc wouldn't let me leave until my husband came to get me, and then yesterday my therapist let me leave but she called my husband immediately afterwords-she told me she was going to and wouldn't allow me to give any input into her decision.
I feel less and less trusting if I have be careful of expressing every feeling I have without having someone called.
Yes, I had a bad, dangerous weekend, but I want help with talking, not always an immediate jump to the word hospital!
Btw, I am much better. I called my pdoc last night when I got home, and got my new meds stepped up quicker than planned. No hospital for me this time!

I know I signed that my husband was one to contact if need be. So he knew what was going on.

I think they are looking out for you. They know you and see what you need. We may not always agree.

I was out of my mind when I found out my docs could send me to the hospital how dare they have that much control over me. In the end it was for the best.

You can make it so they can't talk to him about your treatment but that would probably lead to more hospitalizations in the future.

I tried to argue that I had never agreed to allow my husband to be contacted by my therapist, but I feared she might see me as a bigger threat at that point. She says her job is to keep me safe, and she's right. I just don't like that it has to be through my husband. It makes me feel so weak. I don't want my husband to be my caregiver.

You can change that, sounds like she is trying to keep you safe but you have no legal reason to have to allow her to have your husband on speed dial

I hope you feel better very soon
