Yesterday at 3pm and tiny black spider with a red dot on its back bit me and it hurt so much, like stinging nettle. 2 hours later i had severe abdominal pain, back pain, neck pain, pain everywhere, difficulty breathing. Then i felt like i lost my mind. Auditory hallucinations, confusion, everything was like slow mo. I went to the hospital and they used antivenom but poison control said it was probably a black widow baby since they often hatch in winter, but not always. Antivenom made the confusion and hallucinations, severe anxiety go away. But today im still so tired and feel very sick. I will never be able to listen to iggy azaleas black widow song again. It was one of the worst experieces ive ever had. But i was told people very rarely die from black widows. I still feel very angry at that little spider. I did not corner it. I was cleaning the sink and it climbed on my index finger. I now no longer believe they are more afraid of us than we are of them. Little SOB. Ruined my day. I hope this doesnt effect the progress ive made in regards to my mood and anxiety.

I am so sorry this happened to you.
good thing you went to the ER. I don't believe this is going to affect your bipolar. You are having normal emotions for this scary situation.
hugs

I am terrified of spiders. If that had happened to me I would totally go crazy. But I'm not you and I'm sorry about what happened but I'm sure you'll be just fine.

I'm petrified of spiders. I was bitten by a brown recluse when I was young and got cellulitis from it. I can't even imagine being bitten by a black widow. So glad you got medical care and are doing better. Hugs.

That is so terrible! I would be psychologically traumatized. That is a huge phobia of mine, ever since I was young. It's horrible that you experienced terrible physical symptoms. So sorry. It is normal for you to feel this way. This will pass. Your feelings are valid, especially given what you just experienced.
