Tonight has been weird in that I haven't gotten sleepy and waiting for my gall bladder surgery I don't have many nights I'm not tired. I'm also not feeling horribly ill for the first time in so long.

But my kitten just came into my room about 30 minutes ago foaming at the mouth. He wasn't upset, even when I swept his mouth out with my finger a few times. He was behaving fine. And now he is absolutely fine. I assume he got a taste of something bitter which makes them foam like that. He's playing now and I'm wide awake to watch him (and now I'm feeling rotten because I moved around too much).

But I'm scared. Only a year ago I lost both my cats 9 weeks apart. The first was very old. The 2nd was old but had a very aggressive cancer and I wasn't expecting to lose him. So I'm a little edgy about pet loss and seeing him act sick was terrifying. This only is somewhat improved knowing he is chasing his sister around the living room and up and down the basement stairs after eating a good bit of food and drinking a bunch of water.

So he's fine. I'm not. Too anxious........

I'm sorry to hear this! I'm a nervous cat mom myself, so I can definitely relate. It sounds like your kitten is totally fine, though--my cat will also foam at the mouth if she tastes something unpleasant or if she has to take oral meds. She's my first cat, and I was terrified the first time it happened. I hope you can get some sleep! I'm not sleepy either, and it's 2:30am here. Going to be a long day at work tomorrow! Take care--and sorry to hear about your gallbladder--that's supposed to be a pain like no other!

Cats can get very sick very quickly, but if they're eating and drinking they're probably okay.

I hope your kitten is okay. How scary!
Please let us know how things are going. I hope you're already more comfortable.

The kitten is fine. Thank God.

I have had no sleep. No idea why and hope my mood isn't about to swing up. That would be the last thing I need right now.

Some night.

Well, forgetting meds will keep me awake all night.....

I NEVER, EVER forget meds. Yet this is twice in the last month. I just never reached for the pill box. I thought about it and even took a PRN that was in the other room. I put on my Emsam patch (after missing it for 2 days, also doesn't happen).

I've got to get healthy again. This isn't me.

Gallstones are apparently making me stupid.
