My blog is about 50% mental health-related, and 50% other topics. My blog has a category list where people can find my posts by subject category. The "Mental Health" category is where all of those types are. There are a lot of them. I don't often write journal-type entries. Occasionally. Most of my mental health-related posts, which I myself write, include articles, reflections, based on true life stories, and narrative poems. Today (Tues, Feb 20) I wrote two posts. My latest is about my sweet but challenging parrot. The one before is more a reflection about mental health/illness on the theme of "constants".

I've kept a blog for almost five years. In recent times, there hasn't been a lot about bipolar because I've been in remission for quite a while. Yesterday it was about how unfair it is that people are conflating gun violence with mental illness...Lord, I am SO sick of our culture blaming the mentally ill for evil acts. We're far more likely to be the victim of a crime than a perpetrator, but the American public is intellectually lazy and needs easy answers, and they always go for the path of least resistance, as evidenced by the current mindset that MI people are all potential killers and all killers are mentally ill. Grrrrrrrrr!

Hey Leia78 I will check out your blog, I think this was a great idea for a thread.

I have been a blogger for many years, and I have had to start over three times. The first time I had to start over, was because I dropped the F-Bomb too many times, and WordPress labeled my blog "mature" and pulled it from the "tags" and the main feed of the site, causing my blog to go virtually unnoticed in the blogging community. I thought it was unfair for them to censor me in such a way, and do it without warning, especially being bipolar and in pain, writing is my ultimate therapy, and quite frankly sometimes you just want to *&^%^&** blank blankity blank the world, and that's how you express yourself.

The second time I had to restart my blog was because I had shared it with some toxic people, who kept antagonizing me in the comments section and no matter how many times I would block them, they would keep coming back, making me feel unsafe to express myself on my own blog. Never share your blog with guys you are dating!!

So this is my third and final attempt at a blog. I have gained nearly 300 Followers after starting it last year. It hurts me so much because I lost over 600 Followers in total because I had to restart from scratch all those times.

But lesson learned, and I am here to stay. My blog can be found in my signature also.

I wonder if Dr. John/Admin would allow a sticky thread (a stationary permanent thread) at the top of this forum, listing the blogs?
Of course, the blog owners' interest in doing so is critical.

If you all are interested, maybe contact Admin and see if they will create a sticky thread for links to blogs?

I'd love to sign into PC and also jump onto the various blogs!

I just realized it was YOU who read my blog and appreciated my words! I am absolutely honored that you found my blog and my words useful. See? You have so many good ideas and talent to offer!!

Just as a side note, I took this idea and ran with it. I contacted one of my friends, who is a moderator, and asked her advice on how to get the ball rolling on how we could all share our blogs or make it easily accessible to those who want to read some WONDERFUL material. So let's see what happens, I will definitely keep you guys updated.

Blogs are a great way of sharing one's thoughts and feelings, which can help others in their own recovery and living with bipolar efforts. It's so awesome to see our members journaling on their journey!

I am unbelievably excited to see this from you DocJohn. Leia78 really shined when she came up with the idea for this thread. I mean I know a lot of PC members have blogs, but I love that we now have a way to REALLY showcase our work and be apart of your resource directory!

This is a great idea.

My blog is mostly poetry, with a blog post or story here and there. I do have some poems on mental health issues. Most of those have keywords. It's in my signature.

Aww thank you so much Leia78, I absolutely love your blog too! You're the one who came up with the idea for this thread, so right ahead and pat yourself on the back! I am just so grateful that the wonderful moderator and friend, Notz, that I reached out to went out of her way to bring this idea to her Community Support Team and DocJohn to make this a "Sticky" for us.

Oh, I'm just seeing this now! I was just Googling blogs last night. I'm starting mine, just posted my first chronic illness post today, but I've a private account. Can I ask if anyone is interested could you message me privately? Oh, and it's a WordPress blog, so you'd need to have a WP account. I might make it public one day, but I'm still a little new to all of this and like keeping to myself or to folks I have interacted with at the moment. I'll follow the ones I can on here though as a start. Nice thread idea!
