Is this a form of mania? I have insomnia from my meds and was up most of the night with my mind going. I couldn't stop it. This is nothing new to me. I've never been manic, never had a lot of energy or been euphoric. Been told I have mixed episodes 13 yrs ago.

Insomnia or not feeling tired?

Sometimes I have my mind going when I'm not manic. Usually it's because I'm anxious about something or reflecting back on my day.

Not saying you're not manic, but just saying there are other possibilities. I like to do mania tests. e.g.,

That usually helps me

I hate that feeling! It is especially bad during mixed mania or anxiety. Do you think anything triggered this, or is there anything in particular making you feel anxious? Sometimes therapy has helped me when it comes to processing a lot of the stuff that continuously runs through my head. However, I understand how it feels when it is one big "mish mash" of racing thoughts that makes it especially hard to process.

Meditation for me helps in some instances, although impossible for me when I am at my worse. It helps to try though, if I don't set my expectations too high. Light exercise helps calm down the body a bit, and therefore, the mind.

Just throwing some things out there.....you are not alone.

If you are still staying in bed all day it could be that your not active enough and your mind is being active for you. There's a reason the hospital told you to stay out of bed.
