I say such inappropriate things with my bipolar. Sometimes people don't notice but most the time their is always one who does.
I wish I hadn't said that my brother food looked really good but I wouldn't have eaten with my hands in the gastro pub. Soz wee bro . If I remember rightly I scoffed spare ribs when you and your then gf were at mum n dad's. My bad. I eat with my hand at mac ds, burger king & Kfc. It was just a pub. Who am I to pretend I have mega high graces?

I don't know if this is helpful for you or not but this works for me and I switch off not thinking about what other people thinking because they're NOT thinking about me.

I feel you for the self loathing that follows after acknowledging & owning the inappropriate hurtful words.

When this happens, I think we are too hard on ourselves, bipolar or not we're all *** hats
Now and then I regret my inappropriate comments

When I make inappropriate comments, it is usually at least slight hypomania and I think my comments were funny and you can't convince me otherwise. You can convince me that you have no sense of humor and I will shrug it off in a superior way. The regrets come much later.

People don’t pay much attention. They are mostly thinking about themselves. Don’t worry about it.

I’ve made odd and bizarre comments at at university class. It is embarrassing but it just happens. If you have actually hurt anyone, apologise, but otherwise just ignore it. People are usually so absorbed in themselves that they forget it in 20 seconds anyway.

Why do you think you make inappropriate comments? Moody, agitation, irritability? I almost yelled at the pharmacist the other week due to my severe agitation. It was scary. I hate going out in public.

Yeah I make inappropriate comments sometimes when Im agitated.

People are really more forgiving than you would expect them to be.

I would try to work on making less inappropriate comments- however you can... but at the same time I wouldnt be TOO hard on yourself because that doesnt help anyone- and it especially hurts you. You dont need to feel super bad about yourself... life is already hard enough
Thanks for this!

I really wish I didn't say "meow said the cow" at random moments

makes me seem so stupid and so childish, and in certain situations, that's really not appropriate.

Possible trigger:

makes me sound terrible

and the same goes for in appropriate laughter

I constantly regret laughing at the funeral.

how in sensitive

I know I've said some things I shouldn't have. My family lets me know straightaway.

It's also important to forgive myself, because continuous regret doesn't really fix things. Making amends if possible does.

The comments just flow about my mouth. I have no filter. I was mixed at the time. The comments probably flowed more from over talkativeness from the mania. Yet at times I was detached from my body and unable to distinguish real from fake. Minor psychosis I think. Meds helped calm me down so I can keep my mouth shut most of the time.

We (the alters normaly blurt stuff out) often speak many different comments and words pending on the mood because at the time that’s how we feel. It’s no fun being out of control of one’s mind and body.

The bipolar makes us regret a lot of things, too.

This can’t be helped, so we just own what was spoken while trying to not use this illness as an excuse, but as more as a reason and making amends where needed.

My agitation spills over onto email and I upset my father who doesn't deserve it. I haven't said I'm sorry enough. I have to limit email and social media usage. My agitation goes from 0 to 100 in a millisecond and can't control it. Anti-psychotics have helped. I need relief to get on with things.
