I'm struggling with a lot of anxiety lately. Anxious to bathe, leave the house, deal with life.

I take 2 mgs of lorazapam at night to sleep. My psych nurse is against benzos. I'm afraid to talk to her about bc she might take me off the lorazapam and put me on gabapentin. Then idk what I'll do about the sleep and I'm afraid my anxiety will go up. This is such a horrible feeling.

My mother has been addicted to lorazepam for 60 years, even now aged 85 she tries to stop it, her doc asked her why bother trying to stop at her age? My son took gabapentin no probs, why are you worried about taking it?

Many caretakers won't prescribe benzos anymore, you're right. Doctors worry about addiction and don't like prescribing scheduled drugs anyway. Since the opiod restrictions it's gotten worse. People lump them together. Sorry, that's not useful to you. I don't talk about my benzos to my psychiatrist either, though he doesn't seem to care. If you took the gabapentin would she give you something else for sleep, do you think?

I'm already on a couple meds for sleep. She could increase the trazadone I suppose but I'm already on a high dose. Maybe the gabapentin would help but I doubt it.

Well I wish you all the best with the Lorazepam. What is your dose for trazadone, my other son needed 100 mg for sleep - they wouldn't let him take ativan/Lorazepam for sleep even though he has it for anxiety.

Anxiety is absolutely miserable. I'm so sorry you're experiencing it.

I really wish psychiatry would lay off the benzo bias. The truth is, nothing really helps anxiety like benzos do.
Thanks for this!

450 mgs of trazadone. You can go up to 600. Thanks.
