(1) high cholesterol
(2) chronic fatigue
(3) suicidal thoughts
(4) severe depression at high enough dose

Literally, the WORST depression I have ever had in my entire life came from 300mg of seroquel XR. I don't know how or why, but it did. This was confirmed by going off it and seeing the depression go away almost immediately. So please, please, PLEASE say something if your depression ends up getting worse. It happened to me and happened to someone else on the forum I know.

I’m personally wary of Seroquel. I was prescribed 200mg to take at night. I’m no longer taking it...

It definitely causes weight gain ... etc..(it caused weight gain for me at a lower dose than that..also other side effects, high cholesterol. Etc. )

Thanks again everyone. I think I will stick to 50-100 mg only as needed for sleep and/or agitation. I will watch for side effects and stop if any significant ones occur. So far I’ve taken 50 mg twice and noticed an increase in appetite. I made me sleep but s good solid five hours rather than oversleep and feel groggy in the mornings. So far happy bu t the side effect pro foodies scare me.

This is concerning—I would call that into the pdoc.

50 mg is a dose for sleep. It isn’t enough to do anything about hypomania for me, although sleep is crucial.

The hypomania abated after one day so wasn’t a true episode, just a glitch. Thanks for your concern though

They put me on 100 mg when I was ip back in Sept. Honestly I had a total meltdown because I knew weight gain is a side effect and I had lost 30 lbs last year. The doctor said at this low does it should be fine. It's been 7 months now and I do notice I'm craving sweets again. I'm aware and trying to keep a hanle on it. Truth is I feel better than I have in years right now. The weaned me off Trileptal. Upped my Lamictal and took me off Latuda. So now I'm just on seroquel at n8ggt and Lamictal twice a day. I hope adding the seroquel works for you to. I know we are all effected differently by these meds but I truly hope the best for you

Update. Managed to bring it down to 25mg whenever I haven’t slept well for two days in a row. Doing really well with agitation so don’t need it for that anymore. Seems the episode is over.
