When I was first diagnosed in the marines I set out to overcome my Bipolar condition and be successful in life . What I found was achieving 2 degrees with honors and 17 years as a counselor, kids in private school beautiful house, awesome wife who is a therapist etc seamed like I achieved great success but sometimes getting out of bed, showering, doing a few loads of laundry, transporting my kids are all as awesome and we all need to see the reality of our difficulties and that we try our best. Today I celebrate my successes great and small and remember what I deal with is very real and challenging so I need to adjust expectation from times of depression, manias, and in between. Success is doing my best.

Congratulations for your success! You should celebrate all of your successes, good and small. It's great that you don't get down on yourself when you can't be your usual superman.

I do my best, too, though I don't have all of what you have. I have a whole lot less than I originally planned in life, and lost a lot of what I had in the past. Nevertheless, I savor what I do have, and do my best not to compare myself to others. My situation is unique to me. Effort and success is relative.
Thanks for this!

That's great that you achieved so much, but also great to realize that sometimes the small things can be achievements as well.

I had 22 years in AF and 6 years Civil Service. I can't do that anymore, but I'm proud I got as far as I did.
Thanks for this!

That’s awesome small successes matter it’s not who or what you know , what you have, what you do either but who you are as a person that matters

Success is matter of perception.
