I'm recovering from a depressive episode and lately I have been doing a lot of things. I should rest and not be too active, but instead of that I have been planning things, cleaning every day and generally very very active. If I wasn't on meds and sleeping 10h every night I would think I'm hypomanic. Well I guess that's not possible because I'm not feeling euphoric like usually when I'm high. Also I don't have any other symptoms. I feel anxious and it's impossible to take it easy and rest because I'm scared that I'll end up depressed again. This is ridiculous, I know.
I don't know why this is happening and I definitely don't wanna exhaust myself and end up like a few months ago. I hate sleeping because I don't wanna wake up in the morning lonely and tired and feeling useless. Almost every night when I'm supposed to go to sleep I feel extremely anxious and "scared of sleeping". I can't explain this. I'm trying to enjoy that I'm able to be this active and do things after months of depression, but it's hard to enjoy it when I'm scared all the time that I'll burn myself out. I wish I could live in the moment and take the rest I need. I hate the restlessness.

Thanks for sharing your concerns. I tend to have a lot of restlessness too. So I have some idea of what that feels like. I hope, as time goes by, you are able to come to a place of deep inner peace...

Did you just start the Seroquel or have you been on it for a while? I ask because sometimes there can be restlessness caused by the med. I have akathisia from my med so I had my dose reduced and added another med to relax.
Do you have a sleep routine established? Any soothing guided meditations before sleeping? I usually go through and "clear my mind" before I sleep. There's also progressive muscle relaxation where you tighten and loosen groups of muscles starting from the feet and ending at the face. |

Upon reading your post, I was also wondering if a med is causing "restlessness?"
I hope you discover whatever you need to know in order to calm things down. ![]() WC

Is it possible that you are hypo?

Thank you all for replying.
I don't think it's hypo because I sleep about 10 hours every night. I have been on Seroquel for a couple of months, and I didn't have this before. Now I have calmed down a bit, I guess it was just stress because I recently came home from hospital. And I was sleeping very badly just before I left the hospital, so maybe it was caused by some sleep deprivation and stress. I'm doing better now ![]() Thank you all!
