Next late August. When cruises are "cheaper".
Any insight provided will be highly appreciated. I know Lefty can help with this. But it is his choice. Bon Voyage to me.

Cruises are awesome! I've been on three and am going on my 4th in September. It's addictive, I tell you...my family and I go every 9-12 months, and we even have a Mediterranean cruise booked for summer 2019. It never gets old. Just bring some Bonine or Dramamine in case you have the tendency to become seasick (I never have) and lots of casual hot-weather clothes. There is usually a formal night during a cruise and you wear dress clothes. There is plenty of food and drink---you can't walk 50 feet without running into a buffet or a waiter with a tray of drinks in his hands. You can enjoy live music and dancing, go to the comedy club, gamble in the casino, or just lay out by the pool and relax. There's shopping and fine dining too. It's A LOT of fun, and that doesn't even cover your shore excursions. Enjoy!!

The big island is having a huge volcano eruption. I have a lot of family over there and almost of all their houses have burnt to the ground I hope you're not planning on going to that island.

We (my daughter and I) love Wakikki beach. We swam at night in the ocean, which was so cool. They hauled in sand and built a rock wall to retain it all in, which keeps the water warmer and smooth (the water is noticeably choppy and cold on the other side of the wall, which you can’t see so watch your toes). It is slightly terrifying to swim on the wrong side of the wall at night.
In the day, it was....not so great. That island is not as beautiful as Maui. But you know what? You can just hop a plane to the other islands and do a relaxing bus tour! Kauai is so nice! Air tours are super fun too. I haven’t been for many years. It sounds so good. |

Have fun, that sounds great. How long are cruises to Hawaii? I always wondered, but figured it would take forever to get there on a ship from the US.. I will fly there one day, but a cruise would be more fun I think.

Thank you all for your kind and loving replies.
I always wanted to go. 68 years waiting. When there was time, there was no money. And visceversa. I come from Cuba. We have the warm water of the Caribbean, The bluest water that you will see, and the sand is talc. So it's not a beach what I'm looking for. I want four things: a) To visit Waikiki and Maui. b) To go where the natives go. Food, entertainment, ect. c) Eat the authentic Hawaiian plantain green and fried. d) See how they roast the pork under the ground. a and c are covered. And the grease that losens all the bolts, will make the other two possible. Other than that, I've been in a few cruises, so this one will teach me little. I'll eat like a pig and gain another 10 pounds. Maybe more, I think it's nine days. We are flying from Miami to Dallas. Dallas Honolulu. Take the cruise one way, and fly from the boondocks to Miami somehow. The price is something else. The insurance for cancellation only is 700.00. The trip about 8 grands. That's saving every penny. Will we have fun?, maybe. That's my mindset for now. To have a LOT of fun. I worked in RE for a few years, and the best lesson I learned is that you get happy when the check Clears. Until the check clears you have nothing. When I see myself in the boat, the fun will start. Thank again for your replies and keep 'em coming. So I'm hoping not to have to claim the insurance. Let's see.

Oh I hope you will have a fantastic time!! We went a couple years ago to Maui. I’d happily pack up my bags and move there

Such a magical place!!! Just enjoy✨ Depending on where you are at, I kind of loved the beaches at night. Not many people, no large crowds, it was different. It’s just... can’t wxplain how special it is✨
