Best I found is called Fitina. I don't know if is sold in the US.
With it, I won two prizes. One for good memory, and the other, I can't remember.

I have the krill oil, turmeric, vitamins, d3...I’m not consistent with taking them.

Apparently, I like to buy supplements for the cabinet, LOL..,

All I take are multi-vitamins.

I’ve read from multiple sources that some medicines used to dull mental illnesses can contribute to memory loss. It seems the more medicines I’m on, the worse my memory becomes.

hi. i do old-school Orthomolecular, once called "mega-vitamin therapy for the schizophrenias." It was developed in the 1950s, by Canadian psychiatry Dr.Abram Hoffer.

Its pretty simple...massive vitamin C doses, natural form vitamin E, high dose B3 (I go for niacinamide), b-100 complex tablets, plus whatever else you want, really (I add in natural form beta carotene and biotin, for instance).

the combination seems to help make my tranquilizer (Abilify) easier to tolerate. In some older studies, Orthomolecular seems to reduce the TD risk considerably, which probably means it reduces brain damage from "standard treatment."

I have been able to reduce the # of psych drugs I take to 2. I've also been able to have the Abilify dosage reduced a bit, from a whopping 30 to 20, and I'm actually doing better on the 20 than I did on the 30. The 2nd drug is 200mgs/Lamictal.

0 EPS, 0 TD, 0 akathisia, far less severe depression, less dysphoria from the tranquilizer...all in all, Orthomolecular has been good to me. :-)

I take B-12 along with a multivitamin. That seems to help some.

I eat a Megared every day (krill)....fish oil pills mess with my acid reflux.

Unfortunately my memory issues aren’t age related...more trauma based....but I hope it helps.

I've given up on trying to improve my memory. I'm just on too many meds for vitamins and supplements to do me any good. So I make a lot of jokes about it and ask people to forgive me when I inevitably forget something important. LOL.

I think brain training exercises help more than any of the supplements. I was actually kind of surprised when I did a cognitive test to check for any problems and get a baseline so there will be something to compare to if I take it again in a few years. I scored very high on the memory part of it. But I knew that i was going to be tested on the list of items, which is different than remembering to do something every day or every Thursday or only once but several days from now (yeah, I should set reminders on my phone). Or getting hit with a slew of information and needing to remember it while you work through something where a few of the things you were told will be relevant.

Firstly, be wary of anything that claims to improve adult memory:

"In 2014, FTC [Federal Trade Commission] took an administrative action after it determined that advertising for a dietary supplement, that included claims that the supplement was “clinically shown to improve adult memory,” was not backed by adequate scientific evidence."

Source: https://www.gao.gov/assets/690/684620.pdf

Secondly,

"Older adults commonly use dietary supplements despite their costs; however, there is little information available to guide clinicians on their use for cognition. Small trials, which are more prone to bias and chance, may have found certain benefits in these supplements, but larger, high-quality trials have mostly failed to find clinically relevant benefit. "

Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3311304/

So, I don't know what to say about supplements. Perhaps a prescription medication would be a better option. For example, my Ritalin helps (to a degree), and there are non-stimulant ADHD meds like Strattera and Modafinil that are available that might not make one manic.

"[Modafinil] has also seen widespread off-label use as a purported cognitive enhancer"

See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modafinil

"Smart pills, $5 apiece!"
"I'll take two"
...time passes...
"I don't think these are doing anything"
"Sure they are; you're getting smarter already"
