Self harm trigger warning

I don’t have anyone to tell. I don’t see my therapist for another few weeks. I cut myself tonight. I’ve had a horrible day mentally and it just culminated into this. Thinking of my daughter has been great at helping me not cut but even that didn’t work today. I’m so ashamed but strangely feel some relief. It’s been months since I last did this. This is why they usually want you in the hospital when they do a complete med change. I hope it’s okay to post this here. I just really need to get it out and I have nowhere else.

I’m sorry you cut I so get it tho I have been cut free for a bit over 4 year , so it’s possible to stop.

But in the moment ? Nope , self harm releases endorphins so that why it feels better. Try to grab a handful of ice and hold very tight and trust me it’s going to hurt and might be enough to get you past the need to cut right away.

I’m glad you made this thread. It always feel better to have a non judge mental place where you can get it out of your head.

((( hugs)))

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. I am still feeling awful this morning, I wish I would have called in sick to work but I was afraid of getting in trouble. Work doesn’t take nicely to mental illness.

I too had along time “clean” and then fell back into it in November. But I’ve been “clean” since then so it is possible. Holding ice is a good suggestion.

I read in the check in thread that you are in the ER. I hope you get the help you need soon!
