Just started having a panic attack in my t's office. He wanted me to lay on the couch and calm down but I was too embarassed to. I did what he said about sitting up straight and breathing though and it subsided. He even asked if I need to take an Ativan lol I took one when I left. Sucks this happened.

I had told him about my worsened anxiety. Turns out he was gonna ask about starting EMDR today. Damn it! I've been waiting for this. I'm so mad. Why can't I just get my **** under control?!

Oh I’m so sorry that this happened. I know how much you were looking forward to emdr. Try not to beat yourself up about it though, it’s not your fault that this happened. Big hugs!

Yeah but I've waited so long for him to say in ready and then that stupid thing happens. He says he thinks I'm almost there. He wants to do trauma work but wants me stable first. What if I never reach the magic place?!

My panic attacks are much worse when I do not get enough sleep. Hopefully with better sleep your state improves. Definitely not your fault!!

Eye movement desensitization reprocessing.

You'll have to google it bc I can't really explain it but it's a trauma therapy.

Everyone has to have panic attacks at some point in the middle of Therapy, it’s in the Bipolar handbook LOL

But seriously you just push him to start you need it the panic attacks will just continue if you don’t and that’s total suckage.

HB87, I too have been trying to get started with EMDR Therapy and we haven't been able to start because of the very high anxiety/panic I'm currently experiencing. Hang in there! I keep telling myself "Surely this unstable state will pass so we can try EMDR Therapy!"
Thanks for this!
