For those who were on cymbalta, how long did your withdrawal last? I'm on day four without it and just feel like I'm getting worse!

Did you taper off with a lower dose?

I started at 90mg, he cut me down to 60mg and then thirty and then I stopped. I've been off completely four or five days.

Effexor is similar and with that I was sick for about a week. I think cymbalta and Effexor are just the worst to get off of. Give it a few more days. Hopefully you will see and improvement. Med withdrawal sucks! Hugs to you!

I'm lucky enough not to get withdrawals. I hope yours won't last long.

Thanks, wildflower. You give me hope. Hugs.

I thought lamictal withdrawal was bad. This is a beast in comparison. I'm almost likening it to benzo withdrawal...but not quite as horrific.

I hope this is not true for you, but it was about two or three weeks before I stopped feeling sick. Sounds like I am an anomaly though. Hugs

I’ve had awful mood tanking from going off ADs, I’m not sure it was Cymbalta or another kind, but not really any other symptoms. I went off them without even tapering off. Just another bad psychiatrist experience. I probably returned back to my normal self in a week.

I’ve been on Cymbalta now for a few years given to me by a rheumatologist for pain.

I hope you feel better soon.

I think it was 2-3 weeks for me. I did not have brain zaps, but I had horrid brain fog, and I hurt so badly head to toe. I think I had extreme fatigue too. It was quite awhile ago.

I do have fibromyalgia though, and sometimes they use low dose Cymbalta (maybe around 30 mg?) to treat it. My rheumatologist flat out avoided Cymbalta for me even before I started being prescribed it by the pdoc (though I was seeing the pdoc; the pdoc just wasn't prescribing me Cymbalta when I started with the rheumatologist). The rheumatologist didn't want to prescribe something that could mess with the psych meds. But the fibro could definitely be why I hurt all over so intensely (much worse than normal fibro flares, which already hurt a lot) going off it.

I tapered the dose going off.

When Harvey hit and I didn't have my meds the zaps we're the worse. I'm sorry you're going through that. If you don't mind me asking what is the reason you're getting of it? I'm on Cymbalta as well so I'm curious.

I went off it because I never wanted to have sex and before being put on it I had a bigger sex drive than my husband! Also it made me tired. I used to take afternoon naps that lasted four hours and than sleep through the night. I was sleeping more than living. So basically I didn't like the side effects.

Do you have any side effects?

Thanks everyone for your replies. Physically I'm feeling much better now. I still have some symptoms, but it's getting better.

I had to taper down in several attempts and had to micro-dose down to 5mg over two months. Withdrawal lasted two more months. And then started an awful wave of anxiety which took several more months to subside.

You can open the capsule and divide the pellets in halves and quarters to go down to like 5mg.

During the withdrawal I was convinced I was going to die, several times.

I wish you all the strength to go through this.

It all depends on how long you have been on it and the dose. I was on 90mg for several months before I quit.

I don't have a sex drive either!!! Lol do that's probably the only side effect. I take two 30mg a day and 3 a week before my period. The week before I start my period im exhausted but other than that I'm good. Of course the no sex kills my husband, but I'm ok. I have chronic back pain as well and the docs say it supposed to help with that. I've been on it now fir 3 yrs.
