Y’all, Dr Peter Steiner, the pdoc in this article, was my pdoc. By the time I left him, I knew he was bad news but OMG, I had no idea. I’ve never had an issue with drugs so he never prescribed me opioids but he also over prescribed benzodiazepines. I know it isn’t totally unheard of but he prescribed me 4mg of klonapin and had me on massive doses of all my meds.

Thank you so much! I love the one I have now though. I’ve had her for a while and she takes great care of me!

Drug trafficking! And I thought from your description that he was a doddering old incompetent! Wow, indeed. Glad you have a much better pdoc now.

Wow, we knew he was bad but that's beyond bad. I'm so glad you were able to move on to someone so much better. He was a disaster and I'm so glad he didn't cause permanent damage. Just the clozapine alone was bad and he did so much that wasn't even half of it.

It's so great to hear you so stable and happy.

I'm actually great. I'm about 2 months into stable for the first time in my life. Nobody has ever seen this before in me so we're being really cautious but nobody has seen a symptom in a while so we're going with it. I'm very sedated but not about to lower my clozapine which means lowering my other drugs slowly and carefully and maybe getting down to 3 drugs instead of 5. Last summer my clozapine dose had to go up quite a bit and since then things improved until they just settled. I've even lost all my clozapine weight plus 8 pounds of other AP weight.

Right now my only complaint is heat but that's life.

I'm so enjoying seeing you around again! When I started here I was mid-horrible episode and so were you and I remember that even though you were manic and I was mixed I wasn't alone in being so messed up.

I’m so glad to hear that! You deserve to feel so well. It is such a blessing to be stable after being such a mess for such a long time!

I'm glad you got away from seeing him.

I don't like what the government is doing, though. Busting the occasional MD who isn't practicing ethical medicine is important. Going on a witch hunt is just a continuance of Nixon's/Nancy Reagan's War On Drugs - and we all know what a failure that has been.

Wow, glad you don't see him anymore.

Reminds me of the first pnurse I saw after I left military care. He was like, "Well you got to stay on benzos for your anxiety!" And I'm saying, "No I don't!" I finally went to another clinic and I've been getting better since.
