I'm kind of worried I might be headed for another up cycle soon and I wanted to know what you people experience as warning signs when you're about to take off.

What makes me think I might be heading in the manic direction are some symptoms I've been experiencing for the past couple of weeks.

I've had a consistently elevated mood, I'm irritable at times (moreso than normal), very cocky and full of myself, no anxiety, slept 3-4 hours every night last week (though it's back to normal now), I'm finding it easy to come up with things to say like jokes and stories, and I'm extremely sociable/talkative.

Those are just a few things I've noticed lately and they are way out of the norm for me.

Yeah my major sign is a few nights of not sleeping along with feeling better not sleeping....it's like skipping sleep invigorates me. Certain meds can trip me off like ADs or steroids gotta avoid stimulants. Sometimes I have a bad run of not sleeping but it doesn't invigorate me and it's just a bad run of not sleeping which makes me irritated but doesn't set me off.

Not sleeping. Or getting by on little sleep but not missing it. Say maybe 4 hours or less per night (though to stay stable, I've really got to have at least 6, ideally 8 hr./night). If I have 3 or 4 nights with that little sleep, full mania will be right there. It happens fast for me. Even though hypo feels so good, once I realize I am in this pattern, I call the pdoc. I hate to end the hypo, but the full-blown mania has been nothing but trouble for me and my relationships with others.

I know I'm hypo when I walk across town in the middle of the night to get energy drinks. I also feel like sleeping is a huge waste of time. I feel very euphoric and clean like a mad woman.

I know I'm ramping up when I start feeling like I could jog all the way to Texas and back. It's a great feeling but I know what it inevitably presages.
